Ohhh, I'm loving the stuff for Mack and Kagi in your Corrie Guard Au. Could I give a prompt where Hound and Mack give Fox and Kagi heart attacks because they get into some sort of trouble?
It was supposed to have been a normal supply run, just brining some food up from one of the lower level supply depots up to the docks to be transported up to the fleet ships in orbit.
Hound wasn't supposed to be there, but Mack had been looking a little off and he'd decided to give his brother some company, so he wasn't flying alone.
That and it got him off the base without Fox or any of his other vode getting worried about where he was or how much danger he was putting himself in.
Mack had been happy for the company.
Descending down the pipeline was smooth flying, loading up their cargo was simple enough, and takeoff went fine.
And then, 37 levels from the surface, their engine exploded.
Hound was thrown forwards by the blast, bouncing off the console, and when he woke, the ship wasn't moving and the air was full of smoke.
Mack's voice was somewhere to his left, and above him, and he assumed that meant he was still in the pilots seat. So all he needed to do to check on his brother was get up off the floor.
"You think any of the clones survived?"
"You kidding, a crash like this. Just grab the goods."
He groaned. Looters, and judging by their accents, they were pretty deep down the pipeline, maybe 900 levels down, or deeper.
He just hoped they wouldn't be hostile to survivors.
Hound rolled over onto his back and raised his blaster towards the door. Mack was slumped over the console, awake but probably hurt, and he didn't look like he'd be moving quickly if he needed to.
"Woah, hey, you're alive. Yo Sy, I think they're both alive, grab one of the med kits."
Ah, he knew a great many people on the lower levels like these. He'd bet his bucket they were only taking these supplies to give them out to those who needed them.
"Hound? Oh kriff, are you ok?"
He gestured up to his brother, and Sy took the med pack to him instead.
He knew Sy, he was a good man. He helped supply 10 orphanages across level 998, and organised protection for them too, all on top of volunteering at the area's clinic. Hound helped them out when he was in the area, and he ran a small sports league between the orphanages, something Sy equally helped manage.
He and Mack were in good hands, and so were the supplies.

.
.
Fox was ready to pull his hair out before the report came in.
Well, the report didn't come in, Kagi did, bursting in with a datapad in his hand.
"Everything ok, vod'ika?"
"One of our shipments didn't make it up the pipeline. The engine exploded, it was Mack's."
"Mack, oh Kagi, that's... have we sent a recovery yet?"
"Kablooey is setting up a rescue now, but of course... supplies come first."
"I'll call Hound, see if he can spare a few Masti..."
Hound wasn't on base. Hound had left base for something, Hound had made a point of telling him so he wouldn't worry, Hound had gone with the transports.
He slumped in his chair, feeling as though something heavy had fallen onto his chest, and Kagi's hand rested on his shoulder.
"We'll find the ship, Fox, and until we do, we should trust that our vode can take care of themselves. Mack will have taken them down as best he could, and they'll look after each other."
It didn't help as much as he'd like.
He was going to have to tell Stone and Fix and Thire and Thorn, he was going to have to tell Pup.
Hound was missing, maybe dead, lost somewhere on the lower levels in the wreck of a crashed ship.
Even if he was alive, he was lost in the lower levels, who knew how deep, likely injured. In an area with high crime rates, in an area with gang activity, in an area full of people who would love to see a clone dead and a painful death at that.
Mack too, and how worried must Kagi be.
He'd been through this once already. He'd thought Mack lost once already.
He pulled his vod into a hug, and Kagi melted into it.
Hound smiled to the nurse wrapping his head wound. The Ithorian was lovely. They were trained as a midwife and obstetrician but always willing to lend a hand when the clinic was overrun.
"Tilu, can you comm Fix and let him know Mack and I aren't dead."
"Of course, hon, I'm sure your siblings are worried sick."
Mack was a little worse for wear, his ribs had taken a hard hit and he had pretty bad whiplash, but he would be fine. He was up and talking, just tired and sore and laughing at Hound's concussion.
"This is why we wear our buckets, vod."
Within half an hour, the sound of their vode's voices were echoing down the hallway, and then Hound found himself enveloped in a hug. Over Fox's shoulder, he could see Mack receiving the same treatment from Kagi, though more gently and avoiding the ribs.
"You gave me a heart attack, Hound'ika, I was so worried."
"I'm sorry ori'vod. I'm here, I'm ok. We're both ok."
So, do we think the engine just failed, or do we think Palpy was having fun?
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed.
