Hey! I just wanted to say that this post (femslashdaily(.)tumblr(.)com/post/83309566750/bolto-my-fav-thing-about-white-girl-jokes-is-if) felt very much like white feminism. I know that those jokes can feel weird but from my understanding they were started by PoC who were trying to point out how oblivious white girls are to issues and turning stereotypes on their heads. I mean honestly you're not going to be sterilized or killed because of starbucks or uggs

i see how you can get that, but the white girl jokes i hear are seldom about white girls being oblivious to issues, but about white girls being oblivious to just about everything, similar to the dumb blonde trope. and i seldom hear them from poc, i hear them from white boys who want to insult girls. 

the jokes are meant to convey that girls and women are vapid and silly, hiding behind the race of said girls to pretend that it's okay because they have white privilege. and it's not. 

if they were started and maintained by poc to point out the inconsistencies within white feminism, etc, then whether or not they annoy me doesn't matter and they're not that offensive. but as far as i know it's not. so, while i'm not going to be killed bc starbucks they're still just misogynistic bs.
