About Me

To honor reaching 200 followers, I think I owe it to my followers to do a little post about me, since I have said literally NOTHING about myself.

So, my name is Katie, and I am a 21 year old cishet female. My pronouns are she/her/hers, and I have been dating a wonderful guy for over 3 years.

Sorry for the duck face. I didn’t want to do my typical neutral expression and come across like a bitch, even though I pretty much have resting bitch face, and I just wasn’t feeling a smile. Therefore...duck face.

Anyway, more personal things:

I’m in my final semester of college in Washington, D.C., and I will be graduating in May. 

My major is Psychology (it’s almost like Neuroscience, but the program is new and doesn’t have all the credentials to label the major as such), and I am also minoring in French. 

My hobbies:

Rugby - In my second year of college, I joined the women’s club rugby. The Reason why it’s a club sport is because it’s not an official, varsity sport at my school. Although I’ve taken some intermittent time off from it over the past few semesters, I love rugby so much--to the point that, when I’m consistently practicing and playing, I even dream about it! I hope to get back to it soon, maybe with a local women’s team after graduation. 

Writing - 

I was 11 when I realized my love for writing, and then I flourished in middle school due to a huge portion of my curriculum being dedicated to creative writing, especially fiction. 

Although I got started with poetry in 8th grade, high school was when I became more serious about it, and pretty much stopped writing fiction. 

I took a Creative Writing class in my second year of high school and wrote some fiction pieces, a play, and some poems. At this time, I was also writing fanfics on Fanfiction.net. And I probably shouldn’t do this, but if you want to see the most cringe-worthy profile that ever existed...here it is. I’ve changed the username to match my tumblr and AO3 username, but it formerly was ThePersonFromMemoryLane, because 15 year old Katie thought she was cryptic and nostalgic and cool. That whole profile is so embarrassing--oof, I can’t.

In my senior year of high school, I entered one of my poems to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, which received a first place standing in my state, after which my poem was pooled with the other first place winners from across the country. Then, and I still don’t understand how this happened, I won a national gold medal, and got to go to Carnegie Hall in New York for the reception. It was insane, and I’ll never forget the experience. 

For the first two years of college, I wrote some poetry, but then ceased doing that as well. But now, in my last semester, I’m taking a Creative Writing Poetry class. And until this past Monday, it had been two years since I’d written a poem.

As of this past November, it had been 6 years since I had written a any work of fiction, so I’m happy that I started writing fanfics again and sparked my creativity, which I honestly was dead. As of right now, I have no intention of posting the fics I have on AO3 to Fanfiction.net, but I may upload some from Fanfiction.net to AO3.

Basically my life right now is about focusing on graduating, and cultivating my rediscovered passion for writing.

How long a comment on your fic is too long?

Are you kidding me? There is no upper limit! Is there anything nicer than a big long fic comment? I contend that there is not.
