oh boy, i have a lot of these i fear, but i think i’ll go with milla being a fallen angel. i do not like that at all. its not interesting to me and personally i think it undermines her character a bit. to each their own of course but the theory just really does not work for me.

a huge part of what makes her interesting is that she is self made as a sinner who clawed her way into power through intelligence and discipline. making her a fallen angel reframes so much of her knowledge and influence as something innate rather than earned. the idea that she only knows how to forge angelic steel or recognized vaggie as an exorcist because she used to be an angel herself feels kinda lazy and honestly is a lot less satisfying to me than her being observant and resourceful enough to piece things together on her own.

also i think the scene where carmilla kills the exorcist gets misread a lot. i’ve seen it interpreted as a reveal that she “knew their weakness was angelic steel all along” but to me it reads much more as a mother cornered and terrified for her daughters, fully prepared to die while buying them time to escape. anyway it's narratively stronger and carries much more emotional weight if her knowledge is not tied to her secretly being a fallen angel.
