the thing that stands out to me most with your writing is definitely the intentionality of your word choices. nothing is wasted, and there's weight behind everything, in both description and dialogue. it feels very true to carmilla's character and how she would think even when you're not directly writing her thoughts.

what's your favorite icon of your muse? i really love this one because she looks so smitten with zee! it features fanart of my milla made by @arachnaemboss

is there any fanon about your muse that you can't stand? oh boy, where do i even start 😭 i'm pretty sure i've ranted about these individually before but a few of my biggest ones are fallen angel carmilla, carmilla adopting vaggie (or basically every younger character she interacts with) and the idea that she's a “good” person.

and my issue with all of them is the same tbh. they flatten a really nuanced character into a single archetype or they're just plain lazy (looking very heavily at fallen angel milla for that one). the adoption fanon particularly bothers me because it perpetuates stereotypes, especially the expectation that a woman, must naturally want to adopt or fix every vulnerable person around her 🙄

what first drew you to your muse? i swear i give the same answer every time but her duality. if she'd only been presented as an intimidating and composed overlord, i probably would not have latched onto her nearly as hard. what hooked me was seeing her left her guard down in her scenes with clara, odette and zestial. i just love characters who are allowed to be powerful without losing their capacity for tenderness

is there any fanon you embrace for your muse? well not to drop a hot take but honestly not much of the popular fanon. i actually disagree with and very much dislike a lot of it lmao 😬😭 though i suppose zestmilla is still fanon so i would say that then

The stack of unread reports waits at her side, reading glasses perched low upon the bridge of her nose while her pen travels steadily across the documents laid out along the desk in her study. A melody that has been circling her mind for the better part of the evening slips from her without thought while she reviews the lines of figures and marks any corrections. It is late, and the work remains rather tedious, requiring far more patience than passion, though the familiar presence seated upon the couch nearby eases the edges of it into something comforting.

Absorbed as she is in the rhythm of work and companionship, his thoughtful hum reaches her, prompting pale eyes to find emerald over the rim of her glasses. Amusement touches her expression first, followed by something warmer as she studies his features. “Hmm?” she echoes softly, painted lips softening into a small smile. “That is a rather eloquent contribution, though I suspect there may be more behind it than you are presently offering.”

Setting the pen aside, she leans back in her chair, one hand resting on the desk while the other reaches up to remove her glasses, placing them atop hair left free from its usual confines. “Is there something on your mind, Zestial?”
