Beautiful day to go out to the park and walk around. Climb trees. Pick flowers.

It was funny. We were walking along the path and he had a dandelion. He looked up at me and asked me what would I wish for. And I smiled. I told him he wouldn’t understand. Because in what reality would a 7yr old understand the lost of a person as special as you. My one. My only. My best friend. My everything. How do you explain it. He turned around and told me just what would it be. When i cant even completely understand myself. So I told him I would wish to have my best friend back. He was quiet for a little bit and he looked up at me and smiled. “I hope it comes true so you can be happy again.” And ran off to find more.

I also went by ‘our’ tree. And I found a better one. One that we should have sat under instead. Ka told me that I should have done better and taking you to the better tree. I couldnt agree more. I should have done better. He didnt get why I would have taken you there. But still. I wished you could have been there to walk with us. I wished we could have strolled around together. I dont know what I was think.

Colorado Parks

EcoJoia had the chance to visit three of Denver, Colorado's parks.  We went to Washington Park, Commons Park, and City Park. Colorado is known for its outdoors and the scenery. Denver alone has 22 developed parks and 24 mountain parks that reach over 14,141 acres of mountain property. 

Washington Park is located near the ritzy Cherry Creek neighborhood and Denver University. This park has everything including a 2.6 mi jogging path, two lakes, two flower gardens, volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, two playgrounds, and more.

Commons Park is in the Heart of Downtown where young professionals live and hangout. This park is where Cherry Creek flows into the Platte River making it an ideal spot to go kayaking.

"I like coming to Commons to play frisbee and enjoy the outdoors" - Adam, Denver

City Park is a great family place that contains the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Ferril Lake, and trails throughout. In addition to this, City Park hosts free jazz concerts from June - August. Every Sunday at 6 p.m. the park comes alive with picnickers and jazz lovers.
