hello! i am a low-support needs audhder, but my senior high research is on an underfunded group home for mostly high-support needs people run by priests in my city. the focus of the research is on communication in the group home, and whether or not residents are being engaged with in a manner that creates a sense of security and inclusiveness among the residents.
the goal (even though this is just a high school paper) is hopefully to start a conversation about including provisions for quality of residential care and resident comfort in the Filipino magna carta for persons with disability (from what i can recall, it only discusses where the group homes can be placed). because people need decent and accessible care options. there isn’t much research on this in my country or honestly in my region too, and most of my rrl is filled with studies from western countries because that’s most of what i found.
my question is, how do i go about this in the proper way? can the study have good results? how do i go about it in a way that doesnt let me speak over high-support needs people and that brings the most benefit to those who need it? how can i educate myself more on this topic? the most experience i have with disability care of any sort is when i was going to a pediatric speech therapy/occupational therapy center from ages 14-15, so i am pretty out of my depth when it comes to this topic. please help i want to be helpful but i am scared of getting it wrong
