bugs me a bit how some of the older ladies at the pottery studio don't listen to boundaries? like today one of the ladies i was helping with throwing previously* was like "maybe we can start again in august!" and i was like "idk, my hands are giving me issues, i'm trying to not do much beyond my own work atm" and she just kept on like "oh you can definitely do it in august". and i'm like no, fam, i cannot. (i'm having to rest my hands a lot lately, like had to get a left handed mouse to relieve the strain on my right hand resting)
plus there's the other lady who tried to bully me into a sign painting commission (i am not a sign painter and the paints involved are kinda noxious) and then got mad when i told her no (even tho no contracts were signed, no money was exchanged AND i found her another graphic designer). and now she's been noticeably cold at me, it's very like "oh i see you were only nice b/c you wanted something" :/ (i'd like to say it was gender equal but honestly most of the dudes are either too arrogant/self contained to bother me or are under 50 or queer and are fairly reasonable about boundaries. it's really just white ladies in their 60s+ who are kind of self entitled/boundary crossing i'm sad to say) *also the lady who basically told me she wanted to copy my birds directly/exactly and consume my art style which ICK. i'm always happy to share techniques and stuff but it's such a bummer when people do this. like come up with your own ideas
