I’m getting a feeling. A horrible sinking feeling that my setup is wrong and I should do some correcting of it.

Well, there goes my afternoon. I can only do so much on my Work Desktop, and our wifi download speed sucks, so...I’m gonna spend my afternoon doing the downloading packages equivalent of “it’s compiling!”

Random asf but how do you like computer science? Is it frustrating? What should someone know before they start college if they plan on taking the major?

I uh…I love computer science. But, that being said, it is not easy and because depression and stuff, I’m struggling really badly. Depending on the language you plan on studying, it can be total hell also. The only thing I can tell you is that if your college is trying to teach you Java, go to a different school. 

Java is a piece of shit language that doesn’t allow you to manipulate and manage your own memory which can cause serious problems for professional-level development. Most schools will be teaching you C++ which is my home language and the most widely used, but seriously. Do NOT learn Java. You will be wasting your time, trust me.

God I am so overwhelmed rn. I don't understand C++ at all at this point.

I'm kinda sad that my comp sci class is over because Python has become my problematic fave, but I'm also excited because I get to learn C++ next semester

We were running Monte Carlo simulations about the election in class and everyone's sims showed Hillary winning. Computer science why have you failed us Or maybe us humans are the ones who have failed
