qomp2 is an arcade puzzle game developed by Graphite Lab and published by Atari. This sequel is the successor to qomp, which was originally released in 2021. I never played the first game, so qomp2 is my introduction to this Pong redesign. In this game, you play as Pong, the ball, trying to break free between the two paddles. Although implied, there is no dialogue or straight story to follow. The game begins with Pong bouncing back and forth between two paddles, immediately entering the mechanical board. The controls are pretty easy ā hold down ZR to charge Pong and [ā¦]

In the open mic Dave Chappellās discuss the topic of racism. He starts off with talking about the different types of whistling white and black people do while working. With out physically saying it he shows that the type of whistling white people do is more joyful and cheerful. Meanwhile the way that black people whistling has more hard work and labor into it. Futhering going on to his topic on racism he proceeds to talk about racism in the south and in the north. He communicates that racism in the south is more out in the open. In the south if someone had a racist thought about you, you would know it. He uses humor to announce how amazing it is to have racism out in the open. After, he talks about how the north should be more like south. He promotes that the north should say whatās on their mind but with limits. Later on, he gives an example of a black man walking up to a white man saying āhello you white oppressor, you slave master rapist of Africaā (Chappelle). He proceeds to go on but he entire point was that the north would be more open but to an extent.
With being an African American I love the way he uses humor to mask whatās really going on. Racism is still alive and thriving in America. His appeal was to just be in the open about it and say whatās on your mind. I can see where he is coming from because racism is never going to die. There is always going to be a group of people that is utterly racist and will carry that hate down and down generations. By making it open you could see how truly people feel towards you and you can decided not to associate with me. This logic could work because it lets everyone know how they feel about each other. Even if itās negatively. Also, there is also a flaw in this logic a because itās going to divide up a nation. So, the question is whether or not you would like it in your face or behind your back. Either way itās going to happen. Might as well know what people are saying about you.
Comp Prompt 3
My overarching theme for the semester is animal cruelty. For the rhetorical analysis Iāll be analyzing the above video which is an anti-declawing cats video.
Comp 2
Iām that student...
This being a little difficult to admit, Iām that writer that waits until one to two days before it needs to be submitted to write the essay, and usually my rough draft and final draft are the exact same copy. My brain works best under immense pressure, so when I know that a paper has to be submitted the following day my brain is working harder to focus and so somehow that helps the free flow of ideas and I write much better that way. As embarrassing as it is to be the student who waits until the night before to write the essay, thatās me, nearly every time. For this particular research paper I had due in Comp I had most of my ideas already planned out with a working outline, but I did not officially sit down to write the essay until the early afternoon the day before it was to be submitted. After I have read the article the essay will cover, found the quotations I want to use, and outlined the essay with what each paragraph will cover I just get to work and write the entire essay at once. That is the only way I can stay focused on it without the urge to just come back to it later. That may not be how most people write, but that is the only method that has ever worked for me and gotten me the best marks on my papers.
āPick a school, any school!ā
Something that everyone faces entering their junior and senior years of high school is the decision on where they are going to go to college, if college is the next step for them. There are so many options of where to go, especially depending on the major you are wishing to pursue, how much you are wanting to spend or the types of financial aid packages the school offers, and how far you want to move from your family. One thing that is also put into our minds, or at least put into mine growing up, is that Ivy League schools are the best schools in the country to go to, but also the hardest to get into. In an article that I was reading called āWhat Everyone Gets Wrong About Where You Go To Collegeā by Tyler Kingkade he addresses peopleās beliefs about Ivy Leagues considered being the best schools to go to, and counteracts those beliefs with successful public universities achievements like, āThe City University of New York, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Michigan all have just as many Nobel winners as Princetonā (Kingkade par. 16). The article is full of facts proving that going to a state school does not hurt your chances of becoming successful in your life, and that the success rate out of Ivy League and public universities can easily be comparable. So long story short, go to college, whether itās Harvard or Stephen F. Austin University, you can be successful no matter what.
āAll eyes on youā
Do you ever get the feeling that someone is watching you? Maybe not like the creepy following you home sort of way, but just in general. Because according to Edward Snowden there definitely are people watching, and listening, and snooping through your computer and cell phones, and he actually proved it when he released the information he gained working for the government that showed them monitoring many people in America. In James Bamfordās article āWhy NSA Surveillance is worse than youāve ever imaginedā he talks about the information that Snowden released, and how it affected the people in America. He mentions a survey taken in the U.S. after it was revealed that the government was monitoring people through their electronic devices that showed, ā52 percent of the public is now concerned about government surveillance, while 46 percent is notā (Bamford par. 5). It amazes me that nearly half the country is not worried about being watched by the government. Iām not saying that people are committing crimes and should be concerned about the government catching them, itās just a general concern for peopleās privacy. I know I definitely donāt like the feeling that Iām being watched all the time and have no sense of privacy, and I feel like more of the country should be concerned about that too.
