I said it was not about looking cute. Do you have African American hair? People who do, who are also in the military have expressed concern over this. It's not about fashion, it's the way our hair grows. If it's really about uniformity, then make all women get a buzz cut. Other than that, these new additions to regulations are making it nearly impossible for Black women to maintain their hair properly. Once again, once you start growing an afro, you can start talking about all the other styles.
Did I say it WAS about looking cute? That’s the second time you’ve brought that unrelated point into the conversation. You’re also the only person in the entire thread discussing that, so I don’t understand what your obsession with “looking cute” is. Please, explain.
No, I do not, but, if you had read the entirety of my comment, I know, have dated, and are very close to African-American women. I have talked with them about their hair, and have discussed hair maintenance with them before. So. I’m not completely oblivious, as you seem to think.
Also, why would I have to grow an afro to be “allowed” to talk about the “other styles”? You’re acting like the only opinion who matters is those who have experienced African-American hair.
Are you a hairstylist? Do you know every possible hairstyle that would conform or not conform the the regulations? If not, please learn them, and come back with the correct knowledge. Are you also in the military? Do you know this from experience, or are you seeing this on the Internet? If you’re seeing this on the Internet, do some research first.
