Once again, I heard the classic, "You're too young to have [insert disability/illness]." Anytime I have to call someone to explain that I can't make it to something, such as church tonight, I absolutely dread it. I always get blamed for my own disabilities, or they are discredited because of my age, or something of that ilk. So please hear me out... Disabilities or illnesses do not discriminate because of age. They don't start to pick a person, and then back off because they are "too young". They occur in whomever they happen to occur in, whether that person is 2 years old, or 102. It is not at all the fault of the person who is suffering from them. I beg of you, please, don't blame someone for what they cannot control. Pray for them, love them, and accept them all the same. You truly do not know what it means to have that kind of support when you have a disability.
