A good read for those who have already read a hundred and a half daycare romances and are craving something a little different. Despite how strange the premise is, this fic is sweet and funny and a wonderful read.

What it’s about: Sun has been waiting for the Superstar Daycare to re-open. He has been waiting a long, long time. That’s where you come in.

Why you should read it: This fic starts out by absolutely crushing your heart. It’s one of those that’s almost too sad to bear at first, but that just makes it all the more exciting when things slowly bit by bit improve. This fic will break your heart into little pieces and then put them back together with glitter glue.

Please everyone you gotta read Chester and the Jesters! This fic has a criminally low view count right now and I am RABID for it. It’s also a completed work, so you can read through the entire thing right away!

What it’s about: ‘Chester’ needs a place to hide out from the law. How about the Mega Pizzaplex?

Why you should read it: This fic. I love it. It’s so rare to find a fic that focuses on the animatronics as animatronics, describing their emotions and thoughts in inhuman but valid and relatable ways. It’s so fun to watch Chester stumble through pretending to be a tech, and incredibly interesting to learn more about the animatronics (Especially Sun and Moon, of course.) The writing of every single character is just a delight. This fic’s version of Vanessa instantly won my heart, and just might be my favorite Vanessa from anything I’ve read.

Notes: As I mentioned above, this fic is a completed work now! No waiting for updates, the whole story is just waiting for you to read it! This is also from the same writer as To Be Human, so if you enjoyed that you’ll definitely enjoy this too.

Hello! Time for a tasty Sunday fanfic! Today’s fic is Glimpses of Us.

What it’s about: Years after being replaced as daycare attendant by a robot, you return to your old job. It seems that Sun and Moon need you. Many things have changed since you left, but not quite everything.

Why you should read it: This fic is super cute, managing to move smoothly between intense emotion and soft fluff. The characters talk their feelings out like adults, meaning that any relationship issues that arise are a result of their character traits and story events working off of each other. Exciting relationship events, but no pointless drama without reason. Has strong, well-written characterizations of Sun and Moon.

Notes: This fic is a frequent updater! If you want something that will appear in your inbox with a fun new chapter often, this fic delivers.

Welcome to Sunday, friends! It’s time for a new fic. Here’s one that NEEDS more eyeballs desperately, To Be Human.

What it’s about: Humanity is gone and AI has inherited the Earth. Sun and Moon set out to re-create a human via science to learn more about those who came before- that’s you. You’re the science experiment.

Why you should read it: This fic has a super fun, unique plot going on that will keep you guessing the entire time. Y/N is a chaotic gremlin chock full of antics and everything they do is a joy. Also, this is a completed work! The final chapter posted today, which means you can read through the entire story without needing to wait.

Notes: This fic is tagged as platonic, which means it doesn’t show up at all when people search the most popular daycare attendant fic tags. That is an absolute CRIME, because this fic deserves way more love. Please, if you like this, tell as many of your friends as possible. Post it on Discord servers. Make art for it. Platonic fics spread by word of mouth, so anything you can do is vital to getting the word out about this fic!

Hello again, friends! Today’s fic is Song for a Siren.

What it’s about: Mermaid AU! You got a job at the aquarium and discover a mer that, for some reason, has been hidden away in a closed-off area.

Why you should read it: Mermaid AU!!!! I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t get enough of well-written mermaid stuff. It’s also a lot of fun to see the protagonist slowly earn Mer!Sun’s trust, as well as uncovering the mystery of this secret mer.

Notes: This fic is complete, which means the whole story is done and ready to read!

Today’s fic is Holding the World. (Also check out its sequel, Raising Starlings, once you’re done!)

What it’s about: Y/N is in the worst possible situation- homeless, hungry, recently separated from an abusive ex, and pregnant. Meeting Sun and Moon is about to change things for the better though as Y/N falls in love and slowly gathers a new found family.

Why you should read it: A lot of people want to see Sun and Moon as dads, but usually that’s impossible without either child abandonment in the daycare or outright kidnapping. Here we can finally see them being wonderful caretakers to Y/N (and their eventual baby) without that baggage.

Notes: Ok I know what you’re thinking. ‘I’m not sure I want to read a pregnancy fic. Pregnancy fics are... weird.’ But trust me on this one, this is the one pregnancy fic out there that isn’t weird for once, I mean it. I thought the exact same thing and was extremely surprised by how not weird this fic is. It’s wholesome and fluffy and precious, with every chapter packed full of love.

(For angst lovers, you can also check the writer’s profile for several “bad end” fics that are non-canon to the main fic. While the main fic is very kind to its readers emotionally, the bad ends pull no punches.)
