I wholeheartedly wish that flying did not release any emissions. If I wanted to go to Greece for a few days, I could book a hotel, book a three-hour flight, and go, with no consequences. If I wanted to go to Scotland over the weekend, I easily could. Hell, I could visit places in my own country I have never been to without sitting eighteen hours on a train. But nooooooooo, the flying tin can machine, apart from massive sound pollution and environmental damage from treating the planes with various chemicals to prevent them from freezing when it is cold, releases as much carbon dioxide in a single little trip as I do in a year.
