I Don't Know? … Deciding What's Important in Your Complex Life
The question of the importance of life is a philosophical and existential one that has been pondered by thinkers, scientists, religious figures, and individuals for centuries. Different perspectives exist on this topic, and people's views can be influenced by their cultural, religious, personal, and philosophical beliefs.n't Know? … Deciding What's Important in Your Complex Life

Look and listen. There was a Required Viewing List when I was in my teens and twenties, and (It’s a) Complex World was definitely on it. Every couple years I get annoyed I can’t see it again (unless I can find it on VHS and--oh, yeah--find a VCR to play it on while I’m there). It was filmed in Rhode Island at the famous Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel. The music by the Young Adults is fantastic. The movie is weird and funny and singular and I--a person who bought the Blu-Ray remaster of Liquid Sky last year--would pay cold cash money to see (It’s a) Complex World just one more time.
You kids missed out.
ETA: WHOA WOW DIFFERENT SEARCH TERMS BRINGS ME TO THE MOVIE ON PRIME VIDEO. I’MA HAFTA CALL THE GUY WHO TOOK ME ON A DATE TO SEE IT IN ‘92 AND SHARE THE LOVE.
Complex World (Jim Wolpaw, 1992) this was so of a time and place and it’s hard to believe anyone could have ever gotten away with being this blind-confidently uncool. but i guess there’s universities, improv troupes, youtube, etc. that still offer this space. storylines converge on a rock club for people who are blind-confidently uncool. there’s a bomb in the basement. it’s actually nicely threaded, it’s just the humour and emptiness of everything else was irritating. captain lou albano was the shining point. made as a fundraiser for the club that this was shot in.
