i think i have made some progress on the sonic music. might record my progress

i might have to increase my musical range/learn how to compose for multiple instruments/use some sort of software if i want to write something up to the sonic standard

maria's dream/shadow (and maria's) major theme

i was going to base shadow's music for voyage off of one of his big and flashy songs, i am all of me or live and learn. but i thought first, what if he had something a bit slower, something maybe a bit more connected to where he's from. hence, maria's dream. this is kinda making me emotional, ngl, even though this is mostly just the roughest draft of the thing. hope it can upload properly

I recently got a new notebook with the intention of having all my song lyrics in one place. I've posted about this before on Instagram, but there's just something about having the lyrics existing by themselves away from the melody that I like.

I think it came from my approach to songwriting - the lyrics came first before any of the music. And even when I was writing the first song's mysic, I was already penning lyrics for a second (third) song.

Today's project. I've already spent an hour playing with the mixer. As you can notice from the acoustic guitar, I'm starting with extremes 😅

I’m always so productive in the 20 minutes after I’m supposed to go to sleep.  Just printed out the fifth draft of Song #4.

I’ve been up since 3:30am, should have been sleeping since 8pm, and it’s almost 8:30pm.

Oh well.

Well, it looks like I just wrote the lyrics for Song #4. Now comes the hard part.
