The saddest thing about liars is the think they have gotten over on people. Yes we sit and listen to your well thought out fabricated lies not because we believe them but because we’re waiting to see how far your lies will go. Almost as if we’re watching a suspense movie. We allow you to lie because we understand that you have a problem..Your problem is not that you lie,but you LIE without…

Okay but having compulsive lying sucks ass. Like major ass. I'll lie, believe it myself, then a second later I'm like "wtf that literally never happened?? ?" then u feel shitty and guilty or you just don't care and continue to believe it. Or if people find out/know you have compulsive lying they either think ur purposefully being manipulative or they think it's okay to make jokes about it saying shit like "how do I know if ur not lying right now lol" like fuck off please??
Um... Well, hi I guess. I have CLD (Compulsive Lying Disorder), depression and I have a slight case of Bipolar, and I have no idea how to deal with it all. I'm not on medication and I'm not seeing a therapist because I can't handle that sort of thing. So I just want to know if there is anything that I can do at home that doesn't involve therapists or medication. Or just anything I can do. None of it is very serious. Just minor cases of CLD, Bipolar and Depression.
hey there, the best thing to do, honestly, would be to go see a professional. self-diagnosing isn’t always accurate and the only way you can really treat any of your disorders is through a professional. i know it’s easier said than done, but it really is your best option. self-medicating is never a great option because you can never know if how you’re treating yourself is the correct way to go. but in the meantime, you can try to find coping mechanisms to help you with your disorders while you decide your next moves. you can do things like talk to someone close to you like a friend or family member about what's going on. or you can think of ways to help you when you're tempted to lie because of your CLD, like be fully aware of exactly what your continued lying will do and how it will hurt you in the long run?
hope that helps! —francesca.
I'm writing about a character who is a pathological liar, do you have any information or notes on one and how to capture it in writing?
I don't know much about it, so I'm going to direct you to people who do. -T

Pathological Lying: Symptom or Disease?
Capture it in writing the same way you'd capture anything else. Make your character dynamic and real so that the lying is just one facet of them, not their entire being. Do plenty of research in order to integrate it effectively.
If anyone has anything to add, please do. Good luck.
Looking at the symptoms for pathological lying and I fit nearly all of them. Crap.
