Some of DLCC's 1980's Commodore Computer Hardware
Some of my 1980's Commodore computer hardware, including 1541 5¼" floppy disk drives, 1541-II 5¼" floppy disk drives, a Commodore cassette tape unit, miscellaneous video connectors, cables, power bricks, and more.
And the adventure continues! 👍
I bought this device new back in 2008 to use for transferring photos from my digital cameras to computers.
For nearly 18 years, this device was used on several generations of computers, including my current system, until it finally failed on January 13, 2026.
Fortunately, I purchased 2 of these devices back in 2008. I set the second device aside in case the first one failed. I had no idea the first one would function for 18 years, or that I would still be using a device like this 18 years later.
For me, it makes no sense to use Wi-Fi enabled digital cameras to transfer photos to a device less than a foot away. I continue to use a digital camera with a SD card and no Wi-Fi.
That camera is a Canon PC1560, which I bought new in 2010. It has no Wi-Fi and uses a SD card to store photos. I first used a 2GB SD card for the camera, then later replaced it with an 8GB SDHC card which is still used today. At present, I have taken over 25,500 pictures with this camera. The built-in flash still works as good today as when I bought it.
I see no need to use a Wi-Fi enabled camera that:
Requires an Internet connection
Sends pics 100s or 1,000s of miles through countless servers
Requires an Internet account to receive pics
Requires an Internet-enabled device to retrieve pics online
The photos you see here of DLCC's preserved items are taken with this camera, transferred to my device offline, then uploaded here.
For the foreseeable future, I will continue to use this process with the working card reader/writer.
May we please have a moment of silence for the departed device… 😔

DLCC's Preserved 1983 Nevada Cobol for Commodore 64 CP/M
This is my 1983 Nevada Cobol for Commodore 64 CP/M. It requires the CP/M for Commodore 64 Z80 cartridge featured in a previous post.
Nevada Cobol will also run on the Commodore 128, which has 3 internal CPUs: a Z80 CPU for running CP/M, a Commodore 128 BASIC CPU, and a Commodore 64 BASIC CPU.
And the adventure continues! 👍
I have added Microsoft .net Core SDK 1.1.10 x86 x64 (2016) to my DLCC legacy software archive.
And the preservation continues! 👍
