Chihiro had planned to spend the day with Oowada and Ishimaru, but apparently they were too tired from their party the night before. So Chihiro had decided to take a lil’ nature walk by himself instead. As he ventured on, he saw his upperclassman, Mahiru Koizumi, in clear aggravation. Chihiro had often heard her voice in the halls when she talked with her friend Saionji or was yelling at Souda~kun, but even then she felt … a bit intimidating. Maybe it was the fact that her voice scared Fuji a bit. Maybe it was her vocal opinion on men.
… Hm? What’s this? She has a camera …. “Oh! Of course!” Chihiro realized. “She’s the SHSL Photographer.” One of Chihiro’s spare hobbies was photography. Perhaps if he thought about that, it wouldn’t feel as awkward to talk with her. And after a quick introduction and a short walk with his new friend, they made their way to a bench overlooking a large plain and a falling sun. He had just wanted to help her, but he was honestly having a lot of fun. He turned in surprise when she thanked him
"Oh! y-You’re welcome Koizumi~san. … I hope I made your day a little better."
She felt it was best to voice her opinion and speak her mind, hence her decision to do exactly that at more times than not. That's not to say there were never drawbacks, but Mahiru wasn't going to change her personality simply to please those around her. Staying true to oneself and striving towards obtaining that self-acceptance was vital-- She'd stand firm on that belief, even if her own confidence was wary. Even so, just because it fluctuated now didn't mean she'd never be able to reach higher grounds.
The photographer valued her friendship with Chihiro (and everyone else), that much was unquestionable. There was always something new to learn from other people, big or small. That, and the memories they formed together meant all the world to Mahiru. Each moment was but a precious keepsake, akin to watching each unique snowflake falling with the knowledge you'll never see the same one again. It was a heavy weight to carry, but nevertheless, it held a hefty amount of value.
"You did.. Trust me. I was having a pretty rough day, but I appreciate being able to spend time with you like this. Taking pictures and walking around isn't always the most thrilling thing in the world, I know. Still, I'm glad you seemed to enjoy yourself as much as I have."
