Le soleil brillera toujours!
Second and final part of "Comrade Bingo" and I'm trying to put into English words my opinion on Bingo Little but I'm laughing so hard that I can't translate it. At least I'll try~
Bingo, esto te pasa por weón no más. [Bingo, this happens to you just for being dumb]
A threatening letter? Just to get money from your uncle and to impress the girl of the moment?
“Bertie, my lad,” said Bingo, taking me earnestly by the coat-sleeve, “I had an excellent reason. Posterity may say of me what it will, but one thing it can never say—that I have not a good solid business head. Look here!” He waved a bit of paper in front of my eyes.
“Great Scott!” It was a cheque—an absolute, dashed cheque for fifty of the best, signed Bittlesham, and made out to the order of R. Little.
“What’s that for?”
“Expenses,” said Bingo, pouching it. “You don’t suppose an investigation like this can be carried on for nothing, do you?
Ocean Breeze losing the race is just karma for using Bertie's flat for a meeting. Also, Bingo tries to make a plan but changes it at last minute, get distracted by another woman, or forgot to pay attention to all the details, or he's to upset for losing money... Bingo needs to be a more cold headed like Jeeves.
Comrade Butt has his revenge! And he made it in public, in front of Lord Bittlesham and a crowd. Thanks to the police this didn't get worse.
“What beats me is how the dickens the thing happened. I mean, how did the chappie Butt ever get to know who he was?”
Jeeves coughed.
“There, sir, I fear I may have been somewhat to blame.”
I KNEW IT! My dear Jeeves!!! He just needed a few words to Comrade Butt and everything snowballed from there. Did it on purpose or it was an accident? Are we sure Jeeves told that accidentally? As chilean and communist comedian Bombo Fica would say: Sospechosa la weá [suspicious thing/derogative, joking]. However, Jeeves deserves that money.
Will Bingo learn his lesson? No, because being a bit (a lot) dumb and lovesick is essential in Bingo's personality. He always will have his mom friend Bertie to support him and Jeeves to at least think about the consecuences of everybody's actions.
Maybe this is the end of Bingo's political career and the end of another romance, but don't worry comrade Bingo, as L'Internationale says "the sun will always shine!"
