Hello fellow internet folks!

My name is Ink and I am currently for the time being your one and main mod as well.

I was inspired by DashCon 2 (not affiliated) and thought I and a club I help run at colllege could do a small scale version of it with the help of other clubs on campus.

We are still very much in the early planning phases of things, but we are in the works and the ball is rolling (we are required to get insurance on the ball pit).

I hope to make this happen next March before I graduate and hope y'all will follow along on the journey ﾟ.+:｡∩(・ω・)∩ﾟ.+:｡

Announcing a new Discord server, 2460Con, for the purpose of planning and launching an online-only Les Miserables convention in 2022: https://discord.gg/PJApYbCbnU. We, the inception committee, will be holding a series of public planning meetings on the server to gauge interest, refine plans for programming and guests, finalize the dates, and recruit volunteers and members of the convention committee (concom).

I'm sorry if this has been answered but I didn't see it in the first con tag - how far in advance should you prepare? I want to do an AA for the first time, and the con I attend annually & have means to get to is 9 months away. AA applications haven't opened yet. I have just a few artworks that I think would work as prints, and want to paint some more, as well as make designs for other merch. How far ahead would you recommend having all your designs done or all your stock produced?

Guys I'm learning so much today about how vendors work from a con's side. Gonna send an email this week to apply for a Special Event Tax Payment Form. We are looking at hosting around 20 vendors. We are plotting besties, we are plotting. Once we have the forms and rooms secured and paid we will be opening that application (also once it's made)

#convention #con planning #convention planning #con #Oh also since we can do vendors we are looking at capping attendance at 300 #Reserving 100 of those tickets though for SIUC students #That's because we're also students putting this together and want to allow those on campus to enjoy the event #vendor learning

I, and our board, are slowly becoming more free to invest more focus into this. We have finished one of our two events for this fall and once the second is clear we should be able to stare at this more.

Also when I yapped with the building people the other day, I had also asked about vendors which they said they'd look into but believe we should be able to so more to come on that as well

Talked with the scheduling people, we have the rooms on hold a big step for our planning. They'll be getting us the quote for room cost in the next couple of weeks hopefully, but this does mean that we have the day
