Our friends at the Homeless Network hosted our co-sponsored event, ABSOLUTE SILENCE.  For one hour on Saturday, the con suite turned into an outpost of the Diogenes Club:  tea, cake, companionship, but no talking.  Attendees enjoyed Mycroft-worthy eclairs, fruit tartlets, and ganache-topped chocolate truffle cake from Alon’s Bakery.  Thanks for the hospitality, @homelessnetwork-221bcon!

But our Con Suite will be the place for general hanging out and meeting new friends with no set schedule of events, if that’s what you’re interested in.

Con season has started! It’s time for the geek havens that grace us every year with guest stars, amazing cosplays, and people who get that when you talk about your Doctor, you’re not talking about a physician. Checked In At Hotel, Got a Nice View And Found Something Unexpected

And flipping through program. I had seen yesterday the room marked Hospitality Suite on one of the maps. But I kind of dismissed it as being for VIPs/guests. Since its been years since I attended a cons with a Con Suite. And they had always been smaller sized sci fi cons. You bet I was surprised when I started reading the description in the program and realized while it wasn't open it all day it was open everyone. I know where I am headed for at least a quick stop after a trip to the exhibit hall tomorrow evening.
