I found the original concepts for this pencil drawing I made years ago. The theme was pearls and I tried various ways to draw it. My goal was to make a mermaid that gave a feeling of style & wealth.

Fun fact I sold the original drawing a couple years ago to an old friend of mine, but I still have prints available if anyone is interested. Link below 👇

Its so hard to choose my favorite pages in this sketchbook, but this one is definitely a top contender as these sketches led to the creation of three beautiful illustrations.

Here's a couple fun facts regarding the final pieces;

1. I was actually laid up in bed unable to walk when I colored Mushroom King.

2. Unicorn Hunt took me at least 16hrs to make, but I lost track of time when I started coloring so it probably to way longer.

3. The Mermaid painting took required numerous sketches as I couldn't figure out the composition.

I think this was the first sketch of the duck family all together. It may even be the first official sketch of Ben & Jerry.
