WHISKEY FOR MY MEN. BEER FOR MY HORSES! #Roadhouses, and their bawdier cousin the #saloon, conjure up pictures in our minds of Wyatt Earp, John Wayne and Clint Eastwood and Old West icons - a throwback to another era. When America began its movement into the vast wild West. the roadhouse and saloon were right behind. Originally they were few and far between, but began to sprout up whenever and wherever the pioneers located a settlement, or where trails crossed. They're popular in places filled with soldiers, cowboys, and where minders scrambled along rocks or canyons in search of their fortunes. Eventually, the migration West fostered every type of establishment one could imagine. There were gambling saloons and brothels, roadhouses, billiard parlors, dance halls, and of course, the ever present, plain ole’ fashioned, whiskey watering hole. Early saloons and those in remote locations were often crude affairs with minimal furniture and few decorations. A single wood-burning stove might warm such establishments during the winter months. A pair of "batwing" doors at the entrance was one of the more distinctive features of the typical saloon. A place behind those infamous double action hinged wood swingin' doors, that served up whiskey and grub, a gal and a smoke. And just maybe, a soak! "Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything. In a gun fight... You need to take your time in a hurry." ~ Wyatt Earp #hungrygenius #restaurant #conceptioneering #food #concepts #onestopshop #popupshop #popuprestaurant #beer #whiskey http://www.daddyodiner.com/montana-beef-brew/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BrWVmcdHRBm/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=iw8dhi1wsho
