I saw them live recently with a friend, and my god it was INCREDIBLE. Everyone looked so cool, why did all of their songs go so hard live, I was shocked when they played RIBS FIRST!? and then THE GARDEN!? It's been years since they played it, and it sounded incredible. (Me and said friend were vibing and blew out our vocal cords lmao)
I couldn't give them this piece in person, but a stage crew member managed to give it to them so I just scribbled a little note on the back, so if anyone from the Crane Wives is reading this, hello :D I was the one near the left balcony corner from the stage with the tan crochet bandana on and a shirt from the 2023 fall tour, yall were amazing!
Also please go give Rachel Bobbit some love, she opened up for the set and her music is incredibly comforting and amazing ^^
First of all if you are at a show why would you spend the whole time on your phone? Like I understand taking photos and videos but I mean like texting or scrolling through twitter or things like that?? Like that’s bad BUT ESPECIALLY DONT DO THAT IF YOU ARE IN THE FRONT ROW RIGHT UP AGAINST THE BARRICADE!!! Do not do that during someone’s set I can even explain how disrespectful that is and I shouldn’t have to. That’s just common sense.
Another kinda related thing. So you definitely do not to love every single opening band but if you are going to be at the barricade at least look engaged and bop along? Like even if you have to pretend. Idk if this just a personal opinion or if anyone else feels the same way but if you’re going to be right in front of the artists look like you want to be there I don’t think that’s such a wild idea?
I don’t think i ever love or hate human beings more than when I’m at a concert. They’re either amazing or they are absolute garbage
I was thinking about last night's concert and remembering some things certain fans around me were screaming to the Fifth Harmony girls, some of then very inappropriate. I came to the conclusion that you should never scream something to an artist you wouldn't say to a random person in real life. Even if you are super excited or you like the artist way too much, you just don't do it because it could make them feel uncomfortable and it's a bit awkward. Maybe I'm just being weird about this or getting into my thoughts too much but I felt like saying it.
Last night’s Fall Out Boy / Wiz Khalifa concert was insanely good
And here’s my little rant about my concert experience last night..
Overall: the concert was mind-blowing and so much fun. Let me explain.
Before getting to the concert I was afraid our seats were going to be super far away and we wouldn’t be able to see anything. However, once we got to our seats they ended up being very good for being in the 200 level. We were still close to the stage to see them, better than getting rain poured on us in the crowded lawn section.
DJ Drama (that was his name I think?) came on and did his thing to warm up the crowd. He kept coming on during the concert during intermission times, and he did a mighty fine job at pumping up the crowd. He played many good songs too so yay for that.
Around 7pm Hoodie Allen came on to open the concert. I wasn’t really familiar with any Hoodie Allen songs, so his short set list kinda bored me, but it ended around 7:30ish so it wasn’t too bad to sit through.
And thenn...Wiz Khalifa came out for his performance! Now, I’m not a super big Wiz fan, but I took the time to learn his set list a few days before the concert so I knew what songs he was gonna sing. I like being able to sing along and know what songs an artist is gonna play at a concert even if I don’t exactly listen to their music. It makes the performance more enjoyable, and since he was doing 17 songs, I didn’t wanna be bored for an hour, even if I mainly went for FOB.
Therefore, Wiz did good. I was a bit surprised when before he came out, a video of him came on the jumbo trons, laying with a bunch of naked women. Like, that doesn’t offend me, but let’s just say I, nor anyone else, expected that. (There’s fucking kids in the audience, jeez). But whatever. I jammed out to You and Your Friends, and Staying Up All Night. I was getting down with it. It was surprisingly fun. During Wiz’s whole performance he was fucking smoking shit, the crowd was full of smoke, and at once point he even threw 2 inflatable cigarettes through the crowd. And when Young, Wild and Free came on everyone was singing along and having such a grand time omg. Lastly, he ended with See You Again (obviously) and it was beautiful.
At one point Pete came out played guitar during one of Wiz’s songs. Haha and it was hilarious since all of a sudden this guitarist shows up and everyone’s trying to see who it is and suddenly everyone realized it was Pete and the crowd went nuts.
And then Fall Out Boy came out and ahhh perfection. A+ starting with Sugar, We’re Going Down because that’s my shit. Their set was great, played all the hits. The stage effects/lights were perfect too. I get that they play the hits because that’s what most people know, but they also played album tracks which was nice. They did Alone Together and A Little Less...so ahh yay! But they also did Young Volcanoes and Immortals and ehh..not my faves. But they were acoustic so it helped a bit. But still, they could’ve easily replaced those songs with like, idk (The Kids Aren’t Alright, Just One Yesterday, Save Rock & Roll, Headfirst Slide). Whatever, they still rocked it. And apparently last night they were filming the concert for their DVD or something. So cool, I’m gonna be in a DVD woo. I just loved the whole concert because they kept saying how it was their hometown show and aww how sweet. Plus they also did a Blackhawks shout out for winning the Stanley Cup, which again made the crowd roar.
And finally, they encored with Light ‘Em Up and Saturday, and ugh, when Saturday come on my friend and I were dancing like loons but I honestly don’t care. I had so much fun. Way better than when I saw them last Dec.
Now it all feels like a dream. A perfect, beautiful, musical dream. What a night.
I was told to listen to his album before we went to the show so I could get familiar with the songs and I did but I'd been so busy lately that I forgot a lot of the songs but the show changed my perspective on the album because he is an AMAZING performer and the band is soooo so talented and the backup singers were just as amazing. He talked about some of his songs in between and I actually felt a deep connection with the meanings and everything and I felt so sad that he had to go through that to be able to write the album and perform it and share it with a huge crowd of people but he was cute and light hearted and said how everyone thinks he's just sad all the time but he's really quite a happy person and that makes me happy. I saw sam smith last night and it was such a late night and it was all the way up in LA and it was a school night but we waited late after the show and HE CAME OUT AND WE SAW HIM AND HE SIGNED SOME STUFF but not our stuff and he left pretty quickly but I heard Kim Kardashian was on the other side and I was thinking to myself "hell yeah I'm glad I was on the sam smith side" so I'm reeeeally really so happy right now.
Is when people bring super huge backpacks and try to push their way to the front. First of all, people waited in line for hours to get these spots. Second of all if your backpack is covered with Velcro you shouldn't bring it and then squeeze your way up and jump up and down. My damn arm is so scratch up from that shit and my shirt kept getting caught in it. It's just plain disrespectful to everyone around you.
This Wiz Khalifa concert is boring as HELL! My aunt wasn't specific over who's concert is it, so I'm already here and it's too late to turn back. On top of that, she ruined my first concert experience with her foul anger problems/attitude over stupid little things. Now that she took it out on me and my other 3 cousins, I'm sitting here in the audience bored and pissed. This asshat can't go between 1 to 5 seconds without cussing. Dude slow your roll! Pretty much the audience, except the VIP area, is utterly dead. Really, I'm just gonna forget about this experience.
All these concert announcements are making me really mad. Why isn't Mayday playing a MA show I wanna see The Maine but dance People need to play at the Palladium bc it's literally down the street from campus Buying tickets is a pain I need to renew my hustler club membership to get ATL presale Also I can basically only go to Friday and Sunday shows because of dance Unless it's at the Palladium because it's down the street from campus But like I said no one is playing there that I want to see I still have more tour announcements to wait on though so hopefully I won't be disappointed Ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh
