Im going to my very first concert in August. Im gonna see TBS and The Used (Yay) but I've no idea what to take? I knoe its different from a festival so, any tips or advice for concerts? Thank you!

josh’s concert virginity snatched guide!

1. stay hydrated

still applies in concerts, make sure you stay hydrated, however there isn’t water stations here, but venues will sell water, but sometimes it is better to take a disposable bottle or grab water in between sets, especially if the venue is a small one, it gets very heated. i’ve been in a 55 degree+ venue for in hearts wake and even they felt the heat and they were on stage and we were in the mosh. whatever you do, stay hydrated **note: most venues won't allow you to bring in a bottle, so make sure you have money to buy water or drink before entering**

2. appropriate clothing

if it is a night concert, it can get cold afterwards, however you don’t have to take one if you don’t want, but it is sometimes best to grab a jacket that you can attach to your waist. wear clothes that are comfortable and enclosed shoes to ensure your toes don’t get destroyed. make sure you tie up your shoes tight as well, i’ve lost my shoe so many times in the mosh, especially at bring me the horizon, lost my shoe 4 times but i was lucky and find out all those times

3. hygiene

spray deodorant before you go, you will sweat and it will get sticky and smelly, but you can avoid that for sometime. tie your hair up as well and wash it the night before, there is nothing more annoying than a persons hair that smells like devon

4. cash

concerts are the playing ground for bands and artists to sell merch and albums, if you want to buy some, get money out prior to the concert so you have cash - i have had to ask a friend to buy me a shirt because i didn’t get cash out and i felt so bad but i did pay her back straight after but i would be annoyed and she was being nice so lucky me. make sure you keep it secure and don’t lose it though

5. be careful in the mosh

you sway like a crazy fucker and you can sometimes not even lift your hands, but don’t be afraid to get down and dirty and touch some booty in the pit, it happens to all of us, you basically are dry humping the person in front of you, but it’s okay. if you want to go into wall of deaths or participate in circle pits, do it at your own risk, if you are on the side of one and people are spin kicking like crazy, just place your arm out and they will most likely hit that and be like swerve bitch

6. respect security and photographers

just respect them, it’s their job

7. transport

again, public transport or organize a lift with someone to and from the venue, do not leave it til last minute, organize that shit immediately. don’t want to get in trouble now, do we!? you never know, you could just destroy the trust your parents have of you going to gigs/concerts, so just play it cool and organize this shit before you go

8. sing your heart out

have a wild time and enjoy yourself! dance a lil, mosh a lil, sing a lil, just have the best time of your life!
