I've always been grateful to have been instructed by blind people, not only because I learned a lot of techniques that allow me to do my work without having to contort my body into uncomfortable positions just so I can see what I'm looking at, but also for situations like this, when the lights go out as I'm tuning. I have literally tuned in dark closets and on stages where the someone didn't realize I was there and left me in the pitch black.
