Two odd GW2 glitches
I was speed-running a character through vanilla campaign story missions to get them at least into HoT so I could REALLY speed them up, when I ran into two odd glitches. The first was when you have to go to Concordia for the meeting of Pact members (and the inevitable undead ambush in Rankor Ruins). See... except on my very very VERY original characters that had already been through Concordia when it was a LIVING base (and not a Mordremoth shattered wreck), Concordia on the normal maps is broken. Vines everywhere and everything shattered. Weird thing is, I’ve run several characters up from beginning through this mission. Well, actually, almost all of them.
On at least half of them, Concordia in the story mission is still intact. In the other half, Concordia is already a shattered wreck covered in mordrem vines. All the NPCs have different locations based on the geometry of the landscape, and where they move in the base is altered because of that. Like, if Priory Researcher A was originally standing in spot B in ‘unbroken Concordia’, but in ‘Broken Concordia’ there’s a vine and rubble there, Researcher A will now be in spot C. And they redid the pathfinding in the broken version so they characters don’t conflict with the new landscape. What bugs me is that I get either/or Concordia. When I ran Zevvras through there, it was Broken. I run Verula through there, and it’s unbroken. Makes me wonder if there’s some hidden flag I don’t know about. And since I don’t advance a character to new campaigns until they finish the old one, it’s not a case of ‘well you already went to HoT with that character’. Because I haven’t. Verula nor Zevvras have seen the Maguuma yet. It’s just weird that I’d be getting the broken Concordia in a ‘time’ when it should be intact. The second is that while running Verula (a Charr), I then got the mission where you end up bombarding allies by accident, and there’s a particular charr, Tactician Syska, who survives the assault and accuses you of trying to kill everyone. Problem is... the Syska I bombarded and the one you encounter a few missions down the road had entirely different character models and builds. Completely different. The one I bombarded had kind of a leopard pattern to her, golden brown fur, and that triple-ponytail of orange hair, and green eyes. Face build was the long sleek one, like the one I used on my Caelia Redgrip character. The one I ended up hunting down as a traitor had a shorter muzzle, brownish fur striped with white, orange eyes, and a kinda spiky orange generic hair. Body build was much bulkier than the thinner one from the bombardment. Either that’s a serious glitch in character design from one mission to the next, or ‘Syska’ forgot what she was supposed to look like. LoL. I wish I had pics but I didn’t think to grab one of Bombardment Syska before I found Traitor Syska later. It was just kinda jarring, is all.
