Conor O'Neill/Neo, requested by Anonymous. Prompts are from 1sentenceorder at LiveJournal. This probably doesn't make sense. Let's pretend the sentences are stand-alone, when they really aren't. :| The Coneo turns kind of one-sided towards the end... Overall, rated PG.
Comfort -- Neo's hands were gentle as they slowly traveled the expanse of Conor's back, his voice speaking words that quelled the pain of Conor's dreams telling him that he'd never wake up again.
Kiss -- The movement had been sudden and surprising when Neo leaned downward, lips brushing against the top of Conor's head, and distracting him better than the back-rubbing.
Soft -- Then there was softness, Conor's hands lifting upward as he dragged Neo closer, bodies melting together in some kind of quiet urge for human contact.
Pain -- He remembered, briefly, the face of Elizabeth, and the warm brown of her eyes; the memory of it stabbed him in the heart, and suddenly the kiss felt bad enough for Conor to push Neo away.
Potatoes -- "You--" Conor began, in an attempt to lighten up the suddenly awkward mood, "--tasted like potatoes."
Rain -- Neo blinked down at him, not quite comprehending; somewhere in the back of Conor's head, he imagined walking into a rainstorm and never coming back.
Chocolate -- "You weren't chocolate-tasting, yourself," Neo finally replied.
Happiness -- How the subject had gone from Conor's insecurities to Neo indirectly teasing him was beyond Conor's comprehension, but the small smile on his doppelganger's face was a good enough compensation.
Telephone -- Still, he couldn't help but recall Elizabeth and the memory of her, and how he'd abandoned her simply because a man named Morpheus had called him on the telephone.
Ears -- His words had been tantalizing, albeit borderline-creepy due to his ability to see everything Conor was doing, and now half of him wished his ears had gone deaf when the proverbial call occurred.
Name -- Neo had quietly whispered his name, telling Conor that it was probably a better idea if he left, but in a moment of selfishness the other man reached out and pulled Neo against him once more.
Sensual -- This one had been more personal, more of Conor's hands raking up Neo's back and clutching the back of his loose shirt, mouths melding within the walls of the Nebuchadnezzar, teeth clinking as he took in the only human who understood him; took in warmth in a deathly cold room.
Death -- Neo had told him once that the Oracle spoke of a choice that would have either Neo's life taken away or Morpheus's, and in even more selfishness Conor tugged him close, praying to whatever god out there that Fate would pick Morpheus instead.
Sex -- It was pure desire, Conor realized, as he felt his teeth dig into Neo's lower lip and pull; it had never been this way with Elizabeth, and he wondered, briefly, if it was this way for Neo with Trinity, too.
Touch -- In a bout of jealousy, Conor's hand trailed down the length of Neo's torso, wondering where Trinity's lips kissed and whether they'd kissed everywhere (while his fingers touched everywhere, too, to remove the scent of her).
Weakness -- That was it, Conor finally noticed, as he trailed the tip of his nose along the curve of Neo's neck--any affection was good to him, be it from Elizabeth or his stupid doppelganger; because Conor had never had anything like it before.
Tears -- They'd lain there together after some time, Neo's arms around Conor's waist, identical fingers interwoven; Conor imagined that they were two people stuck in a world tearing apart at the seams.
Speed -- Come morning, Neo was gone, the only remainder of him being the slight warmth where he lay the night before (it was this that caused Conor to rush his putting on of clothes, and make his way to the desk at full speed).
Wind - The whole crew was there, save for Morpheus, who was out doing God knows what--Link was holding up a finger in the air, and when Conor asked why, he was checking for wind.
Freedom - "He's joking around because he's free," Trinity supplied, a smile touching the planes of her tired face.
Life - Neo was smiling, too (butterflies, butterflies), and Link had opened his mouth to say something along the lines of just appreciating God's given life.
Jealousy - Somewhere among it all, Trinity moved to wrap an arm around Neo's waist, her head leaning comfortably on his shoulder.
Hands - Conor said he was still tired and was going back to sleep when her hand locked with their savior's, effectively making an excuse to leave the area.
Taste - Morpheus had caught him halfway towards his room, making Conor eat breakfast before returning to bed for some strange fatherly reason; the single-celled protein food tasted more like shit.
Devotion - At some point, Neo had come in, taking a bowl of his own and filling it with the goop (Conor tried his best not to look at him with eyes stained the color of harsh loyalty).
Forever - "You think we're gonna eat this crap forever?" Conor asked as they ate to break the awkward silence, and he wondered if Neo heard the underlying question of whether they'd be on the Nebuchadnezzar forever, too.
Blood - Neo allowed a tiny smile--"At least it puts vitamins in our blood" was what he said, though Conor could sense the underlying I hope not.
Sickness - Come nightfall, or what they believed was the equivalent of nightfall taking into consideration the amount of hours past, Conor sneezed on his bed, the coldness of the Nebuchadnezzar finally getting to him.
Melody - Sure enough, Neo had heard the melody of his sneezing, which had evolved to coughing that sounded like a bizarre type of bark.
Star - "You can always wish upon a star to get better."
Home - "You can't see shit in this ship we call--cough--home."
Confusion - Neo laughed, and Conor smiled, but he still thought uncertainly about Trinity's fingers atop his look-alike.
Fear - What scared him was how much it bothered him.
Lightning/Thunder - He coughed loud enough to resemble thunder, eyes clenching as his body arched forward.
Bonds - "Your cough sounded less liquid than the flow of cash bonds," Neo said.
Market - "That was the--hack--worst market joke I've ever heard."
Technology - No matter the advanced technology of the apocalyptic future, nothing healed quite better than Neo's hand on his back and the warm liquid he forced Conor to drink (which tasted like crap, but in all honesty, so did everything else on this ship).
Gift - When his time with the four (four being Morpheus, Trinity, Neo and Link) reached the 365-day mark on Morpheus's calendar, Conor's hair was sticking up again just like it used to--a present from what was once real.
Smile - Neo smiled when he saw it.
Innocence - "What's so fun--" "Nothing, Conor."
Completion - What happened that one night, with mouths and desperate hands and utter warmth, never happened again; but Conor supposed it had something to do with the way Trinity completed Neo enough for the man not to need anything (or anyone) else.
Clouds - Perhaps if he had his way, Elizabeth would come, too, though it was obvious that if he were to walk a tightrope cloud to the sun, he'd rather walk it with Neo.
Sky - He was sitting with Morpheus, shoulder-to-shoulder and eyes trying not to see as Trinity kissed Neo when he awoke from the Matrix, when he said the words--"I feel a little like the sky."
Heaven - "You're Heaven?" Morpheus questioned, amusedly.
Hell - "More of I'm scorched like Hell," Conor replied.
Sun - When he wasn't busy trying not to make it seem like he was looking at Trinity and Neo out of the corner of his eye, Conor pretended like he'd already found the sun of his life.
Moon - Aside from that, in what was perceived to be the time of the moon, Morpheus had Conor plugged-in for the first time, and Link programmed in a few fighting styles.
Waves - They crashed into him like waves, and Conor learned that the baseball bat was never going to protect him enough.
Hair - It was after his tenth training session, when he took a sharp edge to cut off the extra length of his hair, and he heard the hushed whisper of Trinity's name, that he made up his mind.
Supernova - If he was going down in this fight to win that stupid Neo's heart, then he'd go out with the biggest motherfucking bang the world had ever seen.
