The fact that we finally got a show about Captain Pike 50-odd years after the character was introduced gives me some hope that maybe someday we’ll finally get the Captain Rachel Garrett show we all deserve. I’m genuinely surprised that after all this time there hasn’t been any series set between TOS and TNG since it seems like fans have been clamoring for that kind of thing ever since TNG premiered.

It's weird: the Enterprise missed the klingon war in Disco because it was on a five year mission and incommunicado.

Yet in Strange New Worlds its on a five year mission, at least according to tbe opening titles, and goes back to Earth or Starbase One two or three times a season.

It doesn't feel like it's exploring the unknown at all.
