i think people who don’t care about youngmi and jiyeong’s deaths didn’t understand the show at all.
the point isn’t if you cared or liked the characters. youngmi’s death was to showcase the illusion of choice. earlier in the season, we see her crying, begging the other players to vote x so she can go home. they showed that for a reason: to show that there is actually no choice, and people who are put in desperate situations will always choose money over an innocent person’s life. but for youngmi, who wanted to leave the whole time, she didn’t deserve to die.
jiyeong, who died out of her own will, was to show that the game is not on the players side as inho claims. they basically plucked her out of prison and put her in the games when she had no will to live anyway. the game is purely for the vips entertainment and to exploit people who are in desperate situations of needing money.
