“ whoa ---- did you see that ? “
♜: w. rong number warning— ?
It wasn't unusual for Minato to get messages on his phone constantly (much to the jealousy of Junpei) but most of the time he knew exactly who was messaging him. Whether it was Mitsuru asking him for assistance at student council in Yuuko telling him about an important kendo meeting he always knew the number. Except for this time. A blocked number and always a short message. At first, the blue haired boy ignored the texts -- figuring they were really a wrong number trying to get hold of someone whose email nearly matched his own. It was common, really! But after a couple weeks? They just wouldn't stop; even when he blocked the number. The messages were actually cute at first: little emoticons and short peppy messages....
"(。´∀`)ノ have a good day!"
"(ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧ you'll do great!!!"
"keep on fighting!! ヘ(^o^ヘ)"
Things like that -- little things he didn't pay any mind too. Then they became insistent...
"(。ヘ°) are you ignoring me?"
"email me back when you have the chance. (●´ω`●)ゞ"
"(ノಠ益ಠ)ノ hey!!!"
It would have been more intimidating without the faces attached to the messages. It almost became routine then. One message in the morning, two between classes and one before club. Another message would appear when he got back to the door and the final message always appeared at 12:01 sharp; right after the Dark Hour. It was another thing that, at first, it made sense. No one else knew about the Dark Hour and if it had been sent right before time stopped for most (if not everyone), then it would appear at 12:01. Naturally .. right? Every night though?
It just seemed too coordinated to ignore.
Sighing, Minato opened his eyes, staring up at the ceiling of the train, watching briefcases rattle back and forth across the slotted shelf and yawned when his pocket buzzed. His after school message was early. Reaching into his pocket, the usually sleepy student took his phone out and flipped it open, glancing over the message he received this time. Something about not forgetting to study and doing his best; the usual. He was about to pocket the phone when a wave of curiosity passed over him. He hadn't tried everything...
He hadn't tried messaging his mysterious stranger back...
Swiftly, Minato darted his thumb across the keyboard, typing a short reply back to his pen pal before hitting send, his phone thinking for a moment before his message appeared on screen. Wetting his lips, Minato glanced over his digital words with a quiet sigh and sat back, closing his phone. Maybe that would appease them enough to make them leave him alone for a little while...
"i was thinking about sleeping more today. ..that sounds better than studying."
"Hnn?" Vermilion hues landed on the figure he spotted from quite a bit away, his legs dangling from the branch he perched himself on. Eyes watching the figure that just entered the area before his voice came about. "If I were you, I would crouch down, like, now." Totally not giving the reasons that he saw a bird behind that person and it was trying to land. If that one didn't get lower within five seconds, their head would be smacked by wings of pigeon. Literally.
Time.
...Lost.
conflorens replied to your post:Kisses the young Justice's cheek!!
"For protecting me at Tartarus tonight." And a grateful smile would grace her lips as scarlet hues peered down at the younger male. "Thank you, Ken-kun."
I-I, um...
[Ken couldn't help the stumbling in his speech; he definitely wasn't used to being kissed simply for protecting someone, and he certainly wasn't accustomed to being kissed by Minako, of all people. He felt his heart pound in his chest, and even after she'd leaned away, he simply stood there, flustered and trying to find the right words to say.]
Y-You're welcome...! I-I mean, it was really n-no problem, b-but...um...if you need me to do it again, j-just say the word!
Kisses the young Justice's cheek!!
M-Minako-san...! Wh-What was that for...?
PINNED??
Send me ‘pinned’ and my character will react to yours pinning them against the wall
If only they would understand how his body aches for that adrenaline rush. How his veins throbb for a fix that only a fight can provide him with. Just one more shadow— one more fight— he almost had it. His eagerness would be his downfall. Naivete taking the reigns of his common sense, he foolishly convinces himself that he can wrap up his fight alone with three meager shadows and still have time to beat the bloody reaper to the exit point.
It’s not until he’s staring Death in the face does he realize what a fool he truly was. Backed into the corner like a sick dog, Polydeuces does its best to conquer the unconquerable. A gunshot rings out that wasn’t his own and Akihiko is staring down the barrel when it happens. It’s all a blurr from thereon.
Glass shatters from beyond. A sickly, green, humanoid figure with a maw as deep as the abyss itself appears and swallows the blow up as if it were nothing. Polydeuces shatters and recedes back into the sea of his soul.
" Hurry up! " the voice cries out. His legs won’t move, but the figure has enough strength to drag him forward by the forearm, and somewhere in between it all the two run the fastest they’ve ever managed.
No one could ever know the sheer force of power in that tiny body of hers. They underestimate her, lay their lives down for her, yet they treat her like a flower any other time. Their precious leader, Arisato Minako, was anything but.
Akihiko is struck down as soon as his feet hit solid ground. There was no time to catch his breath. Against the giant roman column supporting Tartarus’ spacious lobby is where he smacks his head against when she rams him against it; Minako begins her enthralling-but-venomous assault upon him for being the dumbass that he is.
" You could have died! " she positively roars from pure, unadulterated rage. He now sees why Orpheus is a fire-type.
He could have died, she says. But he wonders, maybe finding penance at the end of the reaper’s barrel wouldn’t be such a bad way to go.

☠: A popular fanon headcanon about my character that bugs me
It’s not quite a headcanon but it’s just how he’s interpreted as a character. Most rp portrayals of Akihiko I just can’t stand. I can’t claim I’m perfect because I end up characterizing him in a way that I end up not agreeing with either but…
I suppose it’s just how he’s interpreted by other people.
I’m really particular about what I consider ic or not.
