"Tu parles pas français, mon Mignon héro?"
Hero stopped mid run, staring at the new Villain quizzically. What had they just said? He glanced about, trying to pick out if any of their own teammates were there, perhaps the villain was talking to them. No, it was only him and Villain at the roof tops.
The villain let out a laugh, enjoying Hero's confusion, stringing up few more sentences in their foreign language. Hero could only stare at them, dumbfounded, as the words sounded stranger and stranger to him. His stance faultered as the Villain's laugh grew, as if some comedian had cracked a wonderful joke.
"I- whatever you're saying, speak it in English!" Hero demanded, straightening his back, ready to fight. The villain looked opposite, now kneeling on the concrete, caught their breath. They wiped their eyes from small tears that had appeared then looked at hero.
"C'est bien, très bien," the villain chuckled, clapping their hands as they got to their feet. "Ah, mon petit Héro, I'm going to have so much fun with you!"
Continuation here.
──────⊱◈◈◈⊰──────
The hero hurled punches and threw kicks as the villain swiftly dodged the attacks, tossing them insults every time they missed and launched themselves at the hero to strike.
They’ve been going round on round for a long time now, and none of them had managed to even lay a hand on the other, much to the hero’s frustration. And their energy was almost draining from all of the flailing. They felt like a mess, sweat and disheveled hair all the way.
They didn’t give up however as they continued to toss their retaliate, even though it kept failing miserably. They knew there was still a chance they might win, after all, giving up was never a solution. That’s what the hero has been taught all of their life, never give up.
The hero caught up once they heard the slipping villain gasp, the villain’s guard being completely let down at the sudden movement.
The hero took the opportunity to take the upper hand. They slammed the villain against the wall, seizing their hands as they panted for air, their hair and face all messy and flushed and sweaty from all the fighting, heart pounding violently. Their gaze was wild, intent.
There was a moment of silence until the villain’s eyes narrowed and flickered with something the hero couldn’t pick out. Then their lips curved into a luscious smirk.
“You know,” they drawled, “I never expected to end up in a position like this with you. It’s...” they let out a soft yet slurty giggle, “incredibly hot.” they locked eyes with the hero.
It took the hero a few seconds to understand what the villain meant and they widened their eyes in bewilderment in the process. A faint blush appeared on their face.
The villain seemed to only relish in their reaction.
“What.. what do you mean?” the hero asked, their words embarrassingly close to a squeak. Their grip on the villain’s wrists instinctively loosened.
“Oh, you know what I mean, sweetheart.” the villain all but crooned and, abruptly, they grabbed them by the collar, making the hero gasp in surprise, their breathes brushing over each other’s skins. “Don’t act like you have no idea. I can read it all over your flushed face.” they observed the other. “God, you look so captivating up close. Those eyes, those lips..”
The hero’s breath hitched and their heart hammered in their chest. They didn’t expect this. This was impossible. This was categorically NOT supposed to happen!
The first second they were fighting with fists and kicks and the randomly thrown sarcastic comments and the next second the villain was... flirting with them?
The villain moved an arm and wrapped it around the hero’s waist, seizing them still, and the hero widened their eyes further. Their cheeks burned.
The hero had no idea what to do. They were speechless. They begged for words to come out, to God please do something and stop whatever the villain was doing.
They didn’t even know wether it was correct to call it simple flirting or not. It felt more like literal enchanting. Because they felt enchanted, dangerously so. They coudln’t think straight.
The villain’s voluptuous eyes pierced through the hero’s. Their lips brushed over the other’s ear, relishing and chuckling at how it made them flinch.
The hero abruptly shifted their trembling hand and palmed the villain’s chest to push back. They struggled to break free, but the villain only gripped harder, clawing at their clothing, their nails digging further into their skin. “L-let me go.” the hero demanded after they managed to contain a fraction of confidence, their eyes averted. Looking at the villain felt dangerous. Because if they kept looking at them, they might get lost in those eyes and fall weak all over again.
Since when had been the villain’s stare so hypnotic like this?
“Let go? Why? Come on, don’t be so hasty. Can’t I hold you a little longer?” they got the hero’s chin in between their fingers, “Maybe I can have a kiss?” they murmured, their lips barely touching.
The hero frowned, tried their hardest to show as much ferocity, but it only made them look even more ridiculous as the villain merely giggled oh so softly at them and cupped their burning cheek, touch feather-light. “Don’t be so tough, darling. Relax.” they leaned in.
A shiver ran down the hero’s spine as they tried desperately to lean back, to stay away from the villain’s (beautiful) face, but their voice was too alluring to succumb. And suddenly the villain crushed their lips together and caught them in a sweet and passionate kiss.
It took everything for the hero to not melt. Their knees buckled and they let their shaking hands loose, surrendering themselves to the kiss.
The villain raised their hand and gently buried it in the hero’s hair, holding them closer as they deepened the kiss. The hero would have fallen into a puddle if it weren’t for the villain’s hands that cradled them so close. A desperate moan escaped their lips.
They yelped in surprise when the villain suddenly pushed them and tackled them to the ground, with a knife pointed at their throat out of nowhere.
“Fool.” they said, voice dark. The flame of passion vanished from their eyes, the sly smirk disappeared from their lips and left their face cold and lethal. “You didn’t even know this was only a trick.”
Not a prompt.
Hero & Villain Snippet #4
"[Villain]! I know you're in here!"
The hero stormed into the villain's hideout. It was suspiciously quiet and still and not at all like the busy picture of chaos the hero had been expecting.
The villain had been suspiciously inactive for the entire week and the hero had been going out of their mind with curiosity and anticipation at what the villain might be doing. The villain was planning something nefarious, they just knew it.
A sudden nasty bout of coughing shattered the silence, startling the hero, followed by something that sounded like someone blowing their nose. The hero narrowed their eyes and followed the strange noises, watchful and on their guard.
They crept up to the door that they determined was the room where the sounds were coming from and quickly flung it open, ready for an attack.
What they hadn't been expecting to find was the villain curled up in bed, buried under a mountain of blankets and pillows. The hero noticed that the villain's face was pale and flushed, two high spots of colour on their cheeks. They were shivering quite violently even under the pile of blankets, their eyes slightly glazed over. If they hadn't been so confused and flabbergasted, the hero would've found the sight to be quite adorable.
Instead, the hero stood staring at the villain dumbly, mouth opening and closing in befuddlement.
"[Hero]?" the villain exclaimed, the initial shock in their voice rapidly turning into anger. "What the hell are you doing in my hideout?!"
"You–you're sick!" the hero stammered, still trying to wrap their mind around the entire situation.
"Really? What gave it away?" the villain snapped annoyedly, their voice thick with sarcasm and snot.
"S-so the reason you were gone for a week is not because you're planning world domination?"
The villain heaved a long sigh and closed their eyes, praying for patience. "Dear god."
New beginning
As hero crawled in the creek, almost slipping on the rocks moving slowly towards the mountain face, such a bad idea. The fact that hero started to climb up and sneak into villains base. A fool’s errand. They made sure not to fall as they almost reached their goal.
So stupid, stupid for letting feelings get in the way.
“Why the hell are you here, hero?” Villain said and almost gave hero a heart attack. They fell, screamed, as they thought they fell to sure death. Maybe this would be a fairly painless death.
Villain got to hero and wouldn’t let go. Hero slammed hard into the wall, crying out as pain flashed through their body. What was worse they didn’t know, villain or falling down to their death.
“I’m not even planning something.”
Hero wasn’t comfortable doing this kind of work in their ordinary, looser clothes. Villain noticed this too. But with courage hero meet villains cold look. “You always plan something, hero exclaimed and knew they were fucked. But still, they didn’t fight villain.
“Says the one who trying to break into my base” villain basically threw the truth in hero’s face. As they dragged hero up, ignoring heroes groaning. “So you’re here unprovoked and before work or do you have a work to go to?”
“Of course I have!” Hero yelled and realized something, “how do you know about that?” Hero hadn’t told anybody they were quitting and it still was a secret. So they thought. Where there a leak somewhere? Bugged somehow?
Villain watched hero crawl on the floor and didn’t smile. Didn’t even smirk, “so you’re quitting like a coward.”
Hero rose up just to fall back down on the floor, with their knee hurt and no way of running from this. They couldn’t bring themselves to try and escape. “I’m not a coward, I’m emotional if anything.”
Villain leaned towards a wall, “that may be worse.” With a swift movement they kicked hero, they yelped and rolled over the floor. “Why so… ‘emotional’? Something wrong?”
“Aah…! Be nicer and I’ll tell you.” Heroes voice cracked liked they were a teenager again, but didn’t move from their spot in villains lab. “But it won’t help, because I won’t come from this room alive.” They knew villain could kill them if they wanted to. This might have been the worse idea ever.
“That’s the first sane thing you said all day” Villain picked up a knife, walking closer and closer to hero. The knife was promising blood running this morning. “What are you planning anyway?”
“I don’t know anymore.“ Hero lied, normally they would have tried to escape. But this morning had been different like something had called to them. They had reached a point of no return.
Villain stabbed hero’s right leg, “you’re such a bad liar. Tell me the truth!” Villain yelled so loud so it rang in hero’s ears minutes after.
“Too long hours and so damn painful” hero answered weaker and weaker.
Villain stabbed their other leg and that was answer enough. New try after their scream and whimper. “I’m not lying…”
Next part villain stabbed was their shoulder and this time a said warning. “For every lie, I will stab you. You don’t want that.”
Hero had a hard time finding their voice, the pain made everything foggy and movements weak and sloppy. But hero didn’t stop trying, and finally made it.
“I can’t take… take the constant pain… anymore. I need a… distraction.”
Villain hesitated slightly. “What do you mean?”
“I can’t concentrate… Can’t sleep. All I do is think.” Hero started to cry, “I thought I’d learned what’s right and wrong.” But they knew this was about more, feeling and sorrow had no right and wrong. No simple solutions.
“You don’t make any sense, be clear, or die.”
Hero laid still on the floor, tired from loss of blood and lack of sleep. “I have been thinking and after weeks I finally know… Know what I want… And know… Maybe… I can’t have it.” They had to say it out loud to someone, “I love you…”
Villain dropped the knife, “me? Why?”
“You’re not all you say… You could… If you want, change the world.” Hero thought and said, “one could say I see more than most people.”
“Do you think people would recognize me as a hero?!” Villain exclaimed, “you’re out of your mind.” It looked like villain would hit hero hard, but nothing happened.
Hero’s courage slowly disappeared, they whispered low. “You could be my hero.”
Hero tensed when villain kissed them if they were tense because of hero’s reaction or the fact neither of them was used to this. Hero started to enjoy the kiss when villain stopped and their breath was harder than before. Hero’s was too, but the moment had been too short.
Somehow hero had forgotten how it felt to be loved like that, how a kiss should be.
“I’m so confused…”
Villain become cold after the warm and soft kiss. “I love you too, but it’s too risky to give into pity feelings.” A swift hard grip on hero’s collar allowed them to lift hero up in the air. “But I will kill you fast, even if you just been in my way.”
“Is it…? Fair enough.” Hero’s shoulder sunk and a groaning sight escaped, as hero gave up. “Maybe death is more forgiving.”
Villains grip slackened and hero fell to the floor and yelped. “Is this really you?” Hero had never once dare show themselves like this. Small and defenseless.
Hero nodded and cried, “I might be strong in front of people. But… at night I cry myself to sleep.” The confession made villain look unsure and hero didn’t want to play the sympathy card. Not intentionally at least.
Hero gasped and almost lost their unconsciousness, but only almost. Villain took them careful and kissed them tenderly.
“Don’t… Hero?” Villain sounded worried, but hero could barely hear them anymore. Least of all answer villain, whether hero died or not, didn’t matter when their life had been so hard.
