They say
' Home' is not a place, but a feeling,
that it is the sense of belonging,
the warmth,
the unsaid sorry's
and unapologetic arguments.
There at times,
you take people for granted,
throw words carelessly
than you ever would,
and rarely, very rarely,
you give in.
They say it's okay.
They say,
It's okay at home.
But Mother,
If home is what they say,
I wonder if I have one.
I wonder if it ever existed?-
For me, for you or for nana.
We have apologized for
mistakes that we never made,
We were made sorry for arguments
that made sense,
We could never take anybody or anything for granted,
we paid in pain for every careless sound made
And we always, always gave in.
So if home is what they say,
Mother, did we ever have one?
Home.
Home,
they say.
I have none to go back to.
So I say, let's just stay,
Let's just stay a little while more.
Let's not go home just yet.
