HAPPY PRIDE DAN AND CONGRATS!
So I promise I won't make this super long but I felt like I needed to say this in light of recent events:
Not that I feel as if it is any of my business, but recently I've noticed that Dan has been acting little different lately, perhaps more stressed I would say, and I honestly I think that behavior was because he was still working through things and trying figure himself out, and I'm so happy that he now feels comfortable in his own skin!...Well I guess as comfortable as our favorite nihilist, socially awkward, relatable and loveable boy can be 😂
Anyways back to what I was saying.
It's no secret that Dan took an extended break from YouTube and also social media in general, and although I do understand part of it was for the sake of his mental health and for some well-deserved rest and relaxation, I have a feeling the other part was so he could fully reflect on things before announcing such a life-changing and deeply personal moment. Coming out can already be hard enough as is, but to come out when you're such a prevalent figure in media and every move you make feels as if you're under a microscope can seem daunting and beyond terrifying. In order for him to find the time to tell all of us, Dan first needed to understand and tell himself. Although it is true that we are all human, it is also true that everyone one of us works in different ways and no matter how long it might take someone, coming to terms with who you are and choosing to let others know or not is completely up to you. Never let anyone make you feel pressured or rushed into making that decision.
I'm so incredibly happy for Dan and I think he's a lot happier now too. And the best part about this new-found identity for him, is that Dan has the most loving support system backing him, both with Phil, his friends and family, and us, his literal Internet Support Group 😄

PS: This should not have to be said, but please do not make this beautiful and heartwarming moment about shipping, or use any clips or quotes from Dan to prove that "you knew all along", because that is NOT the message that is to be taken away from this video and I do NOT want to see anyone hurting this sweet and kind and amazing man in that way. It's fine if you do ship Phan, I mean I do too they're adorable and actual soulmates, but just remember to be respectful when doing so!
