Binged all 7 episode in the first day and I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best pieces of audio fiction I've ever heard. Go listen to Deviser now if you haven't, I cannot stress enough how phenomenal it is! Harlan's out here proving to the world once again how, even without any help from major companies, production crews, advertisers, crowdfunding, etc., he is still a jack-of-all-trades that hits it out of the park every time! I have no doubt when I say both current fans of Malevolent and horror enthusiasts in general are going to appreciate the creativity and sincerity of this mini series.

Deviser is a much darker, more gruesome and terrifying existential thrill-ride from start to finish, not only addressing heavy topics such as the battle of morality and our own shortcomings within the human race, but also the the fear of what possible near futuristic outcomes might look like through the viewpoint of AI interference and manipulation. Though it is true the subject material might be very heavy for some (you should definitely heed the warning before each episode), the writing is absolutely brilliant regardless. The fact that Harlan has yet again taken it upon himself to play every role: writer, producer, sound designer, etc., still leaves me shock every time I think about it. This podcast deserves so much praise and recognition for the endless hours of love and dedication that was poured into its creation. It will hook you from the pilot and leave your mind questioning long after the final credits have sounded. Please do yourself a favor and go give it a listen!

The greatest compliment you can give an artist is to acknowledge the kind of impact their music can have on people; what better way to convey this than to honor their work on a worldwide stage such as this? The weight of emotion in that entire arena during his performance of "FEAR" was more than palpable. The artistry and vulnerability that can be witnessed within his skating here honestly gave me chills as I watched in anticipation.

Every mannerism, every head shake and thrash of limbs to the beat, made it even more evident for the audience to understand exactly how much those words and lyrics went straight to his heart. In choosing this song, not only was he able to better share with us the pain and the uncertainty that was plaguing his mind since that night, but he also placed importance on addressing mental health in general. A topic that I know many athletes in that place could easily relate to.

The inevitable rebirth that will come from all of this is something that should not be missed. He will be back to skate his redemption for Worlds soon, and I have no doubt he'll find his way back onto the National team in the next couple of years. For now though, what a truly powerful conclusion for Ilia Malinin's Olympic debut. I honestly couldn't think of a more perfect song to sum up all those emotions and map out his success on his journey going forward. I just hope this eventually gets back to NF, he needs to see what he's inspired through his own story 🖤
