7/17/17 - So much for posting every day. Saturday I worked on some simple triple integrals and got a much better feel for setting up bounds. Sunday I started reading up on precalc from the Princeton MGRE review book and learned a new theorem on polynomials. Today I continued with that material and reviewed conic sections.
The Hyperbola.
A hyperbola is the mathematical shape that you obtain when vertically cutting a double cone. Many individuals learn about this shape in high school or college algebra classes, however it is not clear why this shape is important. The hyperbola has a few characteristics that allow it to be useful in the actual world. Hyperbolas are used in many fields to create and anticipate occurrences. In a number of ways, they have benefited human evolution.

What is a parabola, exactly? It could very well be the most powerful shape our world has ever known. Because it is so strong and durable, it is applied in a variety of designs. The parabola is utilized in a variety of buildings and technologies, and it always improves whatever it is used in. What makes it so effective? A parabola, according to Pascal, is a circle's projection. Galileo proved that projectiles falling under the influence of homogeneous gravity have a path known as a parabolic path. Many bodily actions follow a curvilinear route that is shaped like a parabola. An architect cannot create a blueprint without first drawing a simple parabola graph. According to the topic's strict definition, a parabola is the set of all points equidistant from a line and a fixed point not on the line. Parabolas are not just about mathematics or how we plot them; they may create something really unique, distinct, and important.
