It’s been a long and TIRING battle. Tony’s relatively unscathed. This creature isn’t all that... difficult. Unpredictable yes but somewhat easy to dodge. The only casualty there’s been so far is Clint who got knocked off the top of a building. Hulk caught him, breaking a few ribs in the process but definitely saving the man from a much worser fate. The thing is the group are getting tired simply DODGING attacks.
The inevitable occurs. Tony’s distracted trying to save a civilian. He’s GRABBED by the creature, thrown about like a damn rag doll until his suit is barely clinging to him. It takes the Hulk to send him down to the ground, dropping Tony like an old forgotten toy. And boy does he feel it when he hits the ground.
Tony’s IMMEDIATELY extracted from the mission and sent back to the quinjet to tend to possible internal bleeding. He’s not HAPPY about it but his legs are barely supporting him and every bone in his body screams with pain. They win. Eventually. And an hour later they’re flying back to the compound.
Back to LOKI.
Tony doesn’t think about how the god will react as he’s helped back onto base. Why SHOULD he? Steve holds the engineer up on one side while Natasha supports the other and Tony hobbles along between them. Eventually they get him to the common room and he collapses onto a sofa, sticking a thumb up in the air.
“Great TEAMWORK guys.” Tony snort laughs only to grasp his ribs in pain. Great. Those are definitely broken. For a moment he lays there and takes inventory. Black eye. Head wound. Broken ribs. Uncontrollable shaking of the left hand (that’s not new in the slightest but it’s counted anyway). Possible fracture of the right ankle. Multiple lacerations across his abdomen. “Although, I think you’ll ALL agree I really took the brunt there.”
