The Guild was formed during the Pact's Orrian Campaign, and has persisted since, remaining under it's own banner even after the formation of Dragon's Watch, though the guild often work in tandem without clear seperation.

Captain Merianus Blacktide (Back Left), brought to the pact by the Order of Whispers, was a former security officer for the peace talks preceeding the signing of the Ebonhawke Treaty. A talented tempest and Ash Legion raised operative, Blacktide's primary role appears to be in an informative and support capacity.

Sruffi (front left) is an enigmatic figure, little is known about his past as no records of graduation from any asuran colleges can obtained. Appearing to have come from nowhere, there are rumours he was sought after by the Inquest and the Council themselves for his uniquely potent and debvestating chronomancy. Rarely seen away from the Commander's side, the mesmer's quiet presence is a curious one.

Warmaster Elan Heartkeeper (Back right) is a well decorated leading officer of the Pact, raised in the Blood Legion and cub of a high standing Brand Sentinal Heartkeeper was Legionnaire of her warband and served in the brand before signing up with the Vigil. The Warmaster has led operations to rescue soldiers deep in the Heart of Maguuma, as well as a slew of offenses and sieges during the various campaigns the Commander has been a part of, the guardian's towering frame is a well recognised one by Pact forces.

Connae (Right, middle) is a druid with sparse information regarding her. Accompanied by a extraordinarily large Sylvan Hound, it appears she has had previous connections with the Order of Whispers, as well as many Hyleck across Tyria. Connae largely seems recognised by Norn, and has made noted efforts at removing Jormag's corruption throughout the Shiverpeaks. A lesser known figure, Connae appears to have a largely supportive role.

Legionnaire Paara Ghostburn (front right) stands as the infamous Asuran Iron legionnaire, head of her ex-gladium filled 'Ghost Warband'. Graduate of the Rata Sum College of Dynamics, she went into Spectrology within the Durmand Priory and during a placement in the plains of Ashford saved countless legion lives when an outpost was overrun by foefire ghosts. Despite this event costing her eye, Ghostburn's imfamy as an unflinchingly capable force proceeds her, and her actions leading the tanks across Orr brought her into the Commander's fold. "

1) Which OC has the biggest family? How do they get along?

Honestly, most of my gw2 character’s are only children - and though Elvire (a Priest of Lysaa) is also an only child they’re also a memeber of the Krytan nobility, and the result is they have a pretty huge family tree. Lots of cousins and second cousins and etc etc - and they’ve certainly met many of them. Elvire mostly gets along pretty well with their family. They were quite spoiled as a child, both of their parents being very loving and heartfelt, and they absolutely have playful rivalries with various cousins of theirs. Some a more than a little annoyed Elvire, the pretty Priest, is regarded as one of the Pact’s top tacticians and a close partner of Commander Prismbellow. Elvire just takes smug joy in that honestly.

6) What OC is the mum friend?

Without a doubt - Connnae. Connae is the most grounded member of Reverie’s Vengeance by a long shot. She’s calm, she’s always ready to listen, and she’s a damn good cook too. She really keeps all of the guild on their feet in a very non-bombastic way, and given the big personalities on the rest of them that’s a good thing for them.

Also a special shout-out to Sorrix, who is just everyone’s Dad. Sorry, he’s your dad now. It just, keeps happening.

28) How did an OC meet their worst enemy?

Ovidius Suneater met his worst enemy not too long after he left the Farhar. He was alone, he was ostracized for his talent with flame, and he was vulnerable. Ovidius’ worst enemy met him under the guise of friendship - with a sympathic smile as led him into the dark with lies and twisted his vulnerabilities until Ovidius wouldn’t be able to recognise himself in the mirror. The recruiter who preyed on all of Ovidius’ fears and doubts and self-loathing is a constant bitter enemy in his mind. He may have killed the Recruiter when he worked with the Whispers years later, but that man’s voice absolutely still lingers and even letting him worm his way in is something Ovidius regrets with his whole heart.

The idea of Connae's Sylvan Hound guardian/service dog Semper also hearing and struggling against Mordremoth's call in the jungle is such a good concept to me

He's trying so hard to protect her against the madness and mordrem, to help her deal with her worsened fainting due to the maguuma heat, and he's being clawed at. His brain being pried into and torn open by a Dragon trying to get him to turn around and sink his fangs into everyone around them. Maybe even into Connae.

Connae can barely to anything to help him, as much as she tries. And unlike Sylvari he can't speak, he's only a hound. He can't tell them when he hears it, when it splits his mind and tries to shatter him into obedience. But by the pale tree does he fight it back, because Connae needs him. And that is stronger than any dragon could hope to be.

So many pens!! This ended up being one thing for each member of Reverie’s Vengeance, so there’s some Guild Gang facts!

Bitt and Figg, Pleur’s Bone Minions, absolutely love swimming. They cannot get enough of it and it’s the one thing both of them highly excited for. As a result Pleur takes plenty of her breaks besides ponds, lakes, anywhere with water, and lets her boys go nuts.

Whilst still in the Ash Legion, Merianus was sent to work in the fields of ruin at the peace conference happening there. His warband were focused on protecting the talks from Seperatist, Renegades, and whatever else tried to crash the party and do it with the degree of quiet expected from his legion. It was actually this job which made him catch the eye of the Order of Whispers, who eventually offered him a job on the ocean he couldn’t refuse.

Connae has an astoundingly good relationship with many Hyleck tribes, not all of them but a decent damn number of them regard her as someone who’s word can be trusted. She sees far less of them now she lives up in the Shiverpeaks, but certainly keeps in touch. They’ve taught her a lot about alchemy and poisons, something she uses to great effect from her back line role in fights.

Sruffi holds an incredibly personal grudge against the Inquest, and the Arcane Eye as well. Both orders very much wanted him and his Mesmer muscle to join their orders, and tried some underhanded tactics in order to force his decision. He hates them both. He hates of callous the inquest is, how selfish and cruel, and he thinks the Arcane Eye little better seeing as how they’ll imprison and silence people on a whim. It doesn’t help his bitterness that his parents were disappointed he didn’t take either offer. But he couldn’t be a part of that, refused to. It’s one of the only times teenage Sruffi puts his foot down.

Elan’s time in Maguuma was...rough. Unlike the rest of the Guild, Elan decided as a Pact Warmaster she’d go into the jungle with them and of course Reverie’s Vengeance would catch up later. Only for the entire fleet to be destroyed by Mordremoth. As a result, Pleur has yet another person on her list of missing people and Elan was desperately trying to corral the mess of Pact forces. The worst part she remembers was having to fight her own soldiers who tried to kill all the Sylvari in the group out of desperate paranoia. Finally reuniting with the Guild was a immense relief.

Paara’s second-in-command of the Ghost Warband is a Charr Engineer named ‘Ghosttorn’. She doesn’t have a first name yet, but Paara almost exclusively refers to her as Ghosttorn, and Ghosttorn calls her only by Ghostburn back. Or sometimes Rabbit, for her big ol’ ears. Despite this the pair are incredibly close, and always seem to be on an incredibly similar wavelength. After Ghosttorn is badly injured in the battle against Kralk, the pair sit down and have a talk. A long needed talk. What they come away with is essentially the fact they view themselves as platonic soulmates. They start using each others actual names a little more after this.

All red shades for Connae?

Red - What makes you angry?

“ Callousness. Unnecessary cruelty, the typical grievances most would have. But I think being being looked down upon, being patronised still tends to get to me more than I’d like to admit. I like to think I’m a lot calmer than I used to be, as a Sapling I was almost constantly angry. Or maybe, frustrated was more the right word. Because I Awakened so prematurely, I was sickly. Being continually patronised and treated as though I was easily breakable, even if I was at the time and still sometimes am, angered me to no end. I was restless. Even now it can still get under my skin.”

Crimson - Have you ever been in war? If so, describe how it impacted you

“The easiest war which springs to mind is the Orr Campaign. I’ve been in plenty of fights, plenty of ‘wars’ since, following Pleur and being a part of Reverie’s Vengeance, but the Orr Campaign sticks out. Orr was...certainly harsh. Such large scale conflict and death weighs heavily, and especially heavily when you’re a healer. At the time I felt like i was failing as many people as I helped, and having the dying soldier in your arms sudden attempt to strangle you leaves more than...a few uncomfortable memories. I think the strangest way that it’s affected me is that by this point, I’m used to all the sights war can bring.”

Maroon - What are you most passionate about?

“Hmm, I enjoy cooking? I like the snow, the mountain air and the cool of the Shiverpeaks. Long Hikes through the woodlands up there are some of my favourite things to do, me and Semper walk for miles. As for the Cooking, it’s relaxing. The stove is warm, people always seem to enjoy what I make. I like to try out whatever recipes they find me, even if I tend to prefer the heartier, cozier food. Stews, I love stews. So, Food and Hiking, I suppose?”

Imperial - Are you in any position of power or authority?

“ I used to occupy as a position of decent authority amongst the Order of Whispers, even if I left the Order quite some time ago. Where it once fit me, I felt it doesn’t much anymore. As for more current positions, I’m a member of Reverie’s Vengeance - the Personal Guild of the Commander. Whilst Pleur commanded the Pact I also technically held a title as one of her Leutients as a result.”

Ruby - Would you consider yourself impulsive or reckless?

“ Not particularly? I do say that, with the knowledge that I can be, certainly as a sapling I was. You don’t get nearly killed by a jungle troll because you thought ahead on things. Mostly I like to think of myself as more cautionary and calm, I prefer to go in with a plan.”

Chili - Do you like spicy foods?

“Much of the time. There’s the occasional spice which is too much for me, but when you’ve come in from a blizzard it’s a welcome thing. So yes, mostly. I don’t tend to make spicy foods whilst Sruffi is visiting however, he can’t much do spices.”

Brick - What are some things you dislike?

“Humid climates, overly hot weather. That certainly comes to mind. It was part of why I was quite as bad as I was when I was younger, the heat of Maguuma often made me ill. I’m a Pinecone after all.”

Rose - Would you consider yourself a romantic person?

“ I...honestly don’t really know how to answer this. I wouldn’t say i’m overly romantic, I don’t seek out romance novels or plan any grand dates or dramatic confessions. None of that particularly appeals to me. I think, i prefer quiet. Give me something quiet, something simple. I’m not against romance, even if it’s not often I have feelings for people. But, I can see the appeal of it. I’m not against it, because how else would I have Elan? I’m just glad she likes things simple as well. We fit rather well in that way.”

Redwood - How tall are you?

“ Oh I don’t know the specifics if i’m honest. Nothing spectacular. I’m not short, although a little on the lanky side - that said, I’m not exactly considered tall either. Average, essentially.”

Wine - What is your opinion on alcohol? (and does it exist in your world?)

“ I’m not against drink, but I’m not one it’s biggest indulgers. I’ll drink from time to time but not all that often, if the company is drinking I’ll have one. Honestly the idea of alcohol just makes me remember that one time a Norn woman I met decided it would be the best plan to get me drunk and convince me to fight a Pinesoul. Semper wasn’t pleased.”

7) Which OC really needs the Mum friend around?

In [This] post I said the Reverie's Vengeance mum friend was Connae - and honestly i think Pleur and Sruffi really need her. Pleur really needs someone to keep her grounded, someone who'll convince her to take a second to breathe and has advice and experience. Connae is 26, to Pleur that's a world of experience that she certainly doesn't have. And sometimes it's nice to feel like someone has all the answers to the mundane things Pleur hasn't had the chance to really learn. And Sruffi needs her too, again for the little things. He's got a lot of things he just, cannot ask for out of anxiety. He's incredibly fussy with his food, but doesn't want to be a bother and Connae will actively go out of her to make sure he's got something he can eat. Elona was hell for him, when even simple food just tasted...different, and he didn't like. Sruffi really, deeply appriactes all the little things she does to make his life easier when she's around, nand she constant tells him not to feel guilty about it because she's happy to do this thing.

22) Which OCs spend the most time together?

I already mentioned Pleur and Sruffi, so although they live together I'll talk about someone else. Paara spends a lot of her time with her Warband, almost all of it. Ghost have followed her into Orr, into the depths of Maguuma and the fires of the desert - and then they return home to their workyard in Ashford Plains and continue to work on technology to fight Ghosts. They're a team, and they come as such. But even more than the time she spends sparring with Rojan for practise, that she spends bickering back and forth with Vinnick about the new weapons they've affixed to their experimental tanks, that she spends getting her ghostburn fussed over by Phaedra, or in Aemar's quiet company as she fights with a blueprint and a wrench - Paara spends most of her time with Elasmus Ghosttorn. Elasmus and Paara are the original founders of Ghost, and they've been through a lot since then. Elasmus is Paara's backup, she's the one who keeps Paara's temper cooler and they both enjoy just, bouncing ideas off of one another. There's a contentment there, and they both know it and they slipped into friendship after two meetings in a grungy old scrapyard. They were old friends from almost the minute they met and it's only ever stayed that way. Elasmus had to heal from a hip injury she got during the events of Dragonfall, and Paara was almost obnoxiously present and concerned for her. Elasmus still hasn't full healed from that injury, and never will, but she does find Paara's fussing heartfelt. And for all of Paara's bluster, she really does love Elasmus, and as is typical, Elasmus loves her back, even if she's much more quiet about it.
