London Road (Phase 2) - works commenced and under way!
As the Connected Croydon programme of improvements progresses, we will be moving the bike racks around the borough. This is to ensure cycle parking provision is maintained during the works. So look out for them and use them… next stop is London Road!
The car-shaped bike racks have proved popular in other London boroughs and have been installed across the UK for both on-street cycle parking and temporary parking at events.
On 20 September, between 11am to 3pm, lead designers and officers will meet you at various project sites along the way and will be on hand to answer any of your questions.

We are delighted to announce that the Connected Croydon Programme was the winning entry in the Urban Design and Masterplanning category at the 2013 Landscape Institute Awards. The project demonstrates how the production of a comprehensive planning and development framework has led to a fully coordinated programme of major public realm and transport infrastructure projects.

The winners will be selected on 21st November.

Connected Croydon is a £50m programme of high street, public space and transport improvements that will transform the town centre by creating a more attractive environment to walk, live, work, socialise and do business. Croydon Council is delivering the Connected Croydon programme in partnership with Transport for London and the Greater London Authority, supported by an £18m investment from the Mayor of London.
