they aren’t being picky, can’t afford to be when their resources have so dwindled much. they’d been on the verge before, a dangerously low fueled mission requiring black squadron to well, get the resistance fuel when they had little to none. it would almost be amusing to think on what had been required of her then, now, if it wasn’t for the fact that she was coming into their new base that did have more than two people most likely in the hanger and thus in her path. everyone had regrouped now, pilots and personnel that had previously been routed to other locations in the evacuations but if she wanted to save the ship they’d managed to acquire? well, it would require a bit of fast thinking.
“clear. [interference] hanger.” its all that comes through the comlink from one jessika pava. it’s a miracle, truth be told, that she’d been able to get the starship to make one more jump, the rest of the squadron flying out of hyperspace a few seconds after her. she’s aiming for the hanger, working to sync her destination with the way she glides the craft and turns it to reduce its speed. no more fuel meant getting creative. “clear the hanger!” is repeated and echoed by other pilots on the link before jessika slams her whole weight against a control, spinning the craft as it makes contact with the ground and skids across the hanger bay. five. four. three. two. “perfect.” the ship comes to a halt inches from the back wall. name another pilot that could successfully do that twice.
