Here's to the Crazy Ones.
Death's stench is heavy on the city today. Everyone is talking about it. The unnatural quality of this seemingly natural occurrence is distinctly felt by all mourning Mr. Jobs' passing. No rationalization can diffuse the pain caused by the death of someone so influential, so devoted to enhancing society through creation and innovation, so committed to beauty. As I write this on my Mac with my iPhone alongside and iTunes playing in my ears, I certainly affirm a wishful desire for Steve Jobs to still be living, dreaming, and inventing.
Inspired by his commitment to being a "Crazy One" and hoping to embrace an even greater commitment to not accept death. I will not stand by and let it win. I'll side with the One who defeated death once for all and invite all to join me in this unbeatable promise.
When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.
“O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
