In an effort to create a more productive Degrassi, Principal Simpson has teamed up with several job locations that will be providing Degrassi temporary (5 day) internships. Students will be randomly assigned an internship for the week of 4/3 to 4/7. Students will be expected to show up to their internship promptly at 8 AM every morning and will return to Degrassi at 12 for lunch and then the remainder of their classes for the day.
Students will be expected to give a full detailed report at the end of each day to Principal Simpson. Each student will need a sign off on their assignment from their assigned mentor. The assignment MUST be completed, or the student will receive an F in communications automatically.
Remember to have fun!!
To read more about how to complete the task and what is required, please read below!! The internships will also be listed below!!
THE TASK:
Every day, you will receive 1 anonymous internship scenario in your ask box. You will receive a total of 5 anonymous messages from the main throughout the week. Again, you will receive 1 anonymous scenario per day for 5 days. If you DO NOT receive a scenario, it is urgent that you contact one of the mods in order to receive your scenario.
What you should do with that anon, is use it as a prompt. We would like a 6-7 sentence (or more) little blurb in reply to the anon. We want to know what happened to your character, how they handled it and how it affected them. In short, it's a small para that you will be writing.
For instance, your anon message might say that your character fell on the first day and knocked over a tray of cakes. It would be up to you to tell us how that story went and where it ended up.
ALL of the prompts and messages sent will be considered canon in this RP!! If you do not like a scenario that was sent to you by a mod, you are free to stray from that prompt as much as you'd like to. Just make sure that your character does something at their internship.
Although the prompts will be sent every day, they are not due until 4/10. However, we recommend doing them each day for a real time effect.

This can include family, friends or any other connection in the RP. Make sure you tag any moodboards you create with the tag "conquertask"!! We would prefer 9 gif set moodboards.
This task will be due in one week, which will be 4/3.
An announcement rang through the speakers in class this morning. All Degrassi students are to be paired together in an effort for the students to get to know one another. Mr. Simpson's voice echoed as he explained the rules to the assignment and assures the student body that all pairs were assigned by a random selection process. The teachers hand out a packet, which has your name and your partners name on the front, and on the next page a set of questions and some space to write in answers. Mr. Simpson ends his speech by saying all students have ONE WEEK to finish their assignment.
Rules:
Students must get together with their assigned partner outside of school sometime during the one week time period.
All questions provided must be answered. If you hand in your packet with questions left blank, you and your partner will be assigned to help either in the cafeteria or library.
These questions will not be viewed by anyone but the teacher and Mr. Simpson, so answer truthfully.
Please plot with your assigned partner and plan to do a chatzy and have it done by the due date of the task, next Sunday (3/26). Check under the read more for questions and your partner assignments!!
Questions:
Start off simple: What’s your full name?
What is your relationship like with your parents and siblings (if you have them)?
What’s something that makes you happy?
Share something personal with your partner.
What are you most afraid of?
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10?
Pick a quote that you love or that inspires you. Talk about it. What does it mean to you?
Tell your partner something you haven’t told anyone else.
End by taking a picture of your partner. Did your perception of them change? Did you learn anything new?
It's the fourth day of your internship and you are sitting in on a session with permission from the patient. The patient begins to break down about how hard life has been since her mom passed away.
Tori had never had a chance to sit in on a patient’s meeting before, but she was curious. She had only been to a therapist a few times, and that didn’t go over too well. She was prescribed pills and told that she had a hard time dealing with her mother’s loss. It wasn’t like she gained any new knowledge from it or anything. Crossing her legs, Tori scribbled on the notepad her mentor had given her and waited for the patient to answer the mentor’s last question. “What is it you’ve been struggling with? Maybe if I could trace these feelings to a particular event, it could help.” Tori looked up at the patient, she was a bit older than her, but seemed to be visibly quite upset. “My mom just passed away from cancer a few weeks ago. It’s been hell. I don’t know what to do with myself.” Tears started falling from her eyes and Tori’s mentor handed the girl a box of tissues. Tori froze. She thought about her own mother and could barely move in her seat. “Tori, are you writing this down?” Her mentor asked softly, just low enough so the patient wouldn’t be disturbed. Nodding, Tori wrote down some notes, but her mind was elsewhere. She thought back to how it felt losing her mom. She wanted to cry, but this wasn’t about her. She had to stay strong. “Loss can be one of the most painful human experiences.” Tori’s mentor confirmed, jotting something down on their notepad. “But we have to handle it one day at a time. We can’t rush the healing process. We can’t expect to feel better overnight.” Tori glanced at her mentor, unsure of what to do. She let his words sink in and wanted nothing more but to leave. The girl just wanted to go home and cry into her pillow. “Tori, do you have any thoughts?” Her mentor asked, looking at the girl. Shaking her head, the girl stood up, smiling politely. “I… have to go. I don’t feel very well. Could you um- sign my paper for today, please?” Holding her packet in front of her mentor, they signed it quickly and exhaled. “Well, feel better, Tori.”
It's the third day of your internship and you hear someone telling your mentor that the girl you saw crying is in the hospital.
"Has Katie arrived yet?" Hearing her name in this context was still so strange. Straightening up in her seat, Tori continued doing busy work, her mentor and the receptionist chatting. Katie was the girl Tori had talked to the day before. She was one of the patients that came in more often than not. It was strange that she wasn't here already. The receptionist's tone changed drastically, causing Tori to peek up from her papers. "Her mother called to cancel a half hour ago. Katie is in the hospital for self harm." The receptionist had been whispering, but Tori heard every word. Swallowing, she pretended she was oblivious to the conversation. She had just talked to this girl yesterday, and she had tried to take her own life? This didn't make sense. Tori felt a sense of guilt. Maybe she should have said more. Maybe recommending the girl a facial treatment wasn't good enough. "Move my next appointment, I'm going to give her mother a call." Tori's mentor explained, before heading towards Tori. "Tori, could you please straighten up the waiting room? I need to make an important phone call." Tori nodded, heading off to the waiting room. As she was straightening the magazines, she saw the magazine she had given to the girl to read yesterday. Her heart sunk in her chest as she picked it up, placing it on top of the pile of magazines.
It's the fourth day of your internship and your mentor tries to tell you that she isn't going to allow you to complete the internship. She won't give you specifics.
Fitz walked in ready for whatever he would be doing at his internship, but mostly waiting to see what would happen today. Things did not seem to be going well, and he wasn’t sure what that would mean for him. He walked into the lawyer’s office when he was told to go into her office by the receptionist. Shrugging, Fitz went to her door and knocked gently and watched the door open. He took a step in and waited for her to address him. “Mark, I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to ask you to leave.” He looked confused at her insistence, “I just got here for the day…” Fitz scratched the back of his neck while he waited for an explanation. “I’m sorry I can’t allow you to continue your internship. Pick up your sheet from the receptionist on your way out, I already signed it.” Before he knew it, his mentor was already back to checking files on her desk. Apparently that was the end of the conversation. Fitz scoffed and backed out of the room, grabbing his sheet from the receptionist and leaving without saying anything else. He headed straight for the ravine without looking back.
