This is my favorite of everything I've ever drawn. A view from Ark Ascended. I loved every minute of making this and it's now my phone background.

If you're considering learning pixel art - or any art - just go for it, it will be fun, it will suck, it will be frustrating and wonderful and absolutely worth it.

Learning Pixel art- Day 8

I'm actually stunned by how well this journey has been going. I obviously brought my experience with other mediums over when I decided to do this but the fact that I have done art for 8 days in a row now is very unlike me.

I had this sudden realization halfway through this piece that I was ENJOYING myself and then the second (sadder) realization that for decades of my life I haven't been enjoying making art at all.

So I'm going to keep going and try not to pressure myself too much, to just give myself permission to have fun and enjoy the act of creation without hinging my whole self-worth on it.

This has been a bit of a ramble. . . .anyway, here's a Pidgeon - my Daughter's favourite animal.

Really blown away by all the likes and reblogs I've gotten lately.

I honestly don't know what to say except thank you, it really means a lot.

I'm working on something pretty neat ATM but it's super complicated so it's taking a while.

Then maybe I'll do some more mhwilds art because you all seemed to really like that.

Soooooo. . . . it's been a pretty long time since I last posted. . .

I've been having a bit of a hard time and I really struggle with picking things back up after a break.

But I'm back for now and doing my best not to start another massive project while I'm in a manic episode (Bipolar problems).

I have done a few things that I'll be queuing up so I don't put myself under too much pressure. Thanks for reading and happy pixels.

I'm so close to posting the next two pages of the adventure! It's taken me a bit longer because I decided to completely redo the layout to give myself more room for text and additional pictures. It looks soooo good and now I've got a good template future updates will be faster.

I'll probably be updating the first instalment to match while I'm waiting on the results from the next poll.

Thankyou for your patience, I promise it will be worth the wait.

So, I haven't been posting anything recently. . .

This is because I'm a certified problem and instead of making small things that I can finish and post, I instead start massive things that never get finished and I'm too insecure about to post.

So. . . . .

I'm going to remedy this in 2 ways:

Make smaller things.

Post my WIPs.

Fingers-crossed I actually stick to this. . .

So I did do my prompt today but I'm not sure if I want to post it.

The prompt was to make some grass tiles and I got super into it and ended up doing 50+ variations, two different types of paths and stairways and all the ways the three surfaces can intersect.

I'm just not sure if I feel safe to put it all online where other people can use it when I haven't even started my game yet. . . .

I am working on some more illustrative pieces and will be posting some non-prompt art tomorrow, even if I end up making another billion floor tiles.
