The Isley Brothers: “Between The Sheets” (1983)
Lots of sampling gold to be found between those sheets, indeed: The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Big Poppa”, Vicious’ “Nika”, Keith Murray’s “The Most Beautifullest Thing In This World”, Da Brat’s “Funkdafied”, Heavy D & The Boyz’ “Nuttin But Love”, and The Conscious Daughters’ “We Roll Deep” remix all came from the same year (’94). The last time I heard it utilized was on Jay-Z’s “Ignorant Shit” (’07). We can only hope the Isleys are rolling in sheets of money, too.
