On April 11, 2020 in the middle of this quarantine, I received an email from someone i never heard of, and it said: “Hey Echo This is Rene. Maybe you are one of the people who have to stay at home, because of this pandemic. So I have a new deep beat for you. You can do with this beat what ever you want, this means you can also use the beat for profit. Use the beat if you like, and tell other people of your feelings and thoughts. I have attached the beat as a mp3 to this mail. :) Have a nice day and take care of yourself.” . . I had just started to practice using GarageBand on my iPhone because of my inability to hit any of my studios. After several hours of YouTube tutorials I experimented a lot with this gifted beat I received and what you hear is the result of hours of me busting my ass in the front seat of my parked car, learning how to self-record with the A/C on minimally (to not affect my phone mic) so i didn’t sweat to death, learning to mix my own vocals, editing and adding effects to my ad-libs and choruses, etc., etc. I hope you can appreciate the artistry and serendipitous synchronicity that took place for this song “PANDEMIC” to come to life.
