We framed this antique dictionary, which was tattered from age and use, to both showcase its rustic charm and preserve it from any future damage. We float mounted the book and a selection of its leaves on a lustrous but subtle 100-percent Pongee silk fabric-wrapped mat. A classic modern frame profile with maple wood sides and antique white front creates a perfect balance between elements of past and present. A spacer of 1 inch keeps the glass away from the precious surface of the book, as well as emphasizing its three-dimensionality.
