Conservatives always find something about the Starbucks coffee cups to bitch about this time of the year. One year it was just a plain red cup of which they took as a “war on Christmas” for some reason. And I believe last year it was a green peace cup or something and they responded by accusing Starbucks of “pressing their liberal agenda”. I fail to understand how clean Earth and peace are offensive but I digress. This year, their beef was with the couple holding hands. I think they were saying they were lesbians or something but honestly I don’t see it. Not that it would have made a difference to me even if that is the case but seriously I don’t see the gay in this. I mean for all I know they could be a man and a woman, two women or two men and them joining hands could mean anything from romantic, platonic, fraternal, sorority or a freaking group prayer circle for that matter. You take your pick. The rest of the cup has hands all over the place some of which have painted fingernails which one can assume are supposed to be featuring a woman while other hands have naked fingernails which could be showing a man or a woman that doesn’t feel the need to wear nail polish. Bottom line, I feel like it’s subject to interpretation but in any case spending time with your loved ones is a big part of the holiday season so really that’s all I’m seeing with this and why conservatives are getting butthurt over something as simple as a damn coffee cup is beyond me.
