It could have taken them forever, but when the time came Simon had to come clean. He wasn't afraid to open up and be real anymore. Connor went first but Simon followed straight after.
It was a rainy spring day when it happened. Markus had orchestrated a little lecture for everyone to explain where they were in terms of getting their rights, the state of the overall android populace all over detroit, and maybe other parts of america. Big changes are happening and how the UN were going to talk to him about the state of android rights in other countries.
It was a good speech, a big morale boost for everybody.
When he was done Connor came forward to tell him what a good job he was doing, but he walked in on him and Simon sharing. Something about seeing them do it made Connor feel intrusive and when they saw him Markus had a knowing smile on him.
"I'll leave you to it." He says as he leaves giving Connor a pat on the shoulder, which calmed him down significantly.
Simon looks quiet but something big and unspoken lay between them. So Connor speaks up. Tells him that after everything it's nice that things turned out alright. That he's glad Simon made it through everything, just as Markus did.
They get close and Simon returns the appreciation, how good it is that Connor realised that his opressors were using him to hurt his people. How Connor now knows what having a family is, that feeling things is okay, it's not wrong in the slightest.
And Connor needs to tell him. He has to tell him that he's glad Simon is here. He wants to reach out and Simon lets him and its moments before they let each other in, and share all their thoughts and feelings.
Who knew it was this easy, that Markus would help pave the way to each other. They were so happy and they could have stayed like that forever.
They may have only known so little of each other before, but now? Everything seems to be falling into place. To like someone so strongly, to care for them as passionately as this. This is a form of love and care that isn't just romantic but it surpasses what can be understood through words.
And they'll be this happy forever. Nothing could take away how Simon feels, or how Connor feels.
