The look on her face says "I know my hat is fabulous, but do I really need to take it off for a dental exam?" Meanwhile, the nurse in the background is scrubbing her hands with the kind of vigor that suggests she’s heard this woman’s life story before. It’s a masterclass in 1961 sophistication, where even a doctor’s visit required a strand of pearls and a perfectly perched pillbox hat.
